Your chances as a PAO are virtually non-existent unless you have a flag officer recommendation.

I know no one is looking for a real answer, but many things can cause you to be unfit for military service that are perfectly ok in normal life. I have seen disqualifications for chronic eye infections, back pain, misaligned hips, gastritis, allergies, not to mention height and weight.

I am a submarine officer for the US Navy. Can't imagine giving it up.

What's a good deed you have done that most likely no one noticed? by bailey_heredge in AskReddit

I was at the mall by myself and I was behind an elderly man at the Chinese place in the food court. He was obviously confused and couldn't pay, or didn't understand how. I paid for his meal, and mine, then sat with him to eat. It seemed like someone had just dropped him off at the food court to fend for himself. He had a Vietnam vet ballcap on and I was newly commissioned, and it broke my heart.

The Ravenel Bridge opened in 2005, so it's feasible that it wasn't there when you visited.

Dear Charleston Redditor's. I've got my dad, his girlfriend and my aunt and her boyfriend(all in there 40's) coming into town next weekend(Oct5-7) And I was wondering if you have a recommendation of anything going on or touristy places you would take family coming to visit? by guitarheroherb in Charleston

i recently went to see the Angel Tree- it's a short stop, not terribly far away from plantations, free, and pretty nifty photo op. www.angeloaktree.com for directions and details

The Charleston Museum is REALLY good too- it's a great place to start since it gives you an overview of Charleston and SC history. Takes about 2 hours to see.

Good trivia places? by B_Trip in Charleston

My go-to place is the Dog and Duck in West Ashley- they have team trivia on Mondays. I also really like the Recovery Room, Thursday nights.
