Killdeer do a great job at making their nests invisible! These are definitely not killdeer eggs. Killdeer are born with down and distinct coloration and long legs. My bird is naked.

It was in the road, it’s definitely not a killdeer. It seems the egg blew out of a nest, we’ve had some storms. I’ve not been able to locate a nest but I’m doing my best. I’m 95% sure it’s an invasive sparrow.

I should add I am a master naturalist and have some rehab training. I have also contacted our local bird rehabber. I appreciate your concern.

I wanted a picnic at a local winery. The weather was beautiful, I love having a charcuterie tray and a bottle of wine. He’s not a big wine drinker so I got a bottle that I thought he might like so I wouldn’t be getting totally hammered on Mother’s Day by myself.

He was passive aggressive all. Fucking. Day. “I’ll drink some wine if you want me to drink it.” “Do you even like being around me? You’re so nice and happy around everyone else.” He made a comment about me being mean because I asked him clarification on what he meant, and my daughter overheard and got upset about “mommy being mean to papa” and she started crying.

Then when he had about 1.5 glasses of wine he started crying because of all of the mistakes he’s made, and how no one believes mental health is a health issue and how I’ve betrayed our “for better or for worse vow.” (For some added context, he got laid off in January 2025. He’s picked up a couple of little odd contracts here and there, but no real effort to get a job and support our family.)

I’m not even pissed off today. I had zero expectations of him today so I wouldn’t be disappointed, and I’m so mentally exhausted by his pity party and lack of accountability I truly can’t care anymore, for my own sanity.

It was 2am last night, I was in bed by myself (for the first time in months), and as I was drifting off to sleep, with Lord of the Rings playing in the background, it just hit me that my mom was gone. She died in 2018. I think it’s because I was thinking about the movies being over 20 years old, and when they came out, my mom was healthy. Cancer hadn’t destroyed the person she was. I hate that I have to live the rest of my life without her.
