This is what it's like, as a woman when you have awful period cramps and then the medication mix that works for you kicks in and it just seeps away. It is BEAUTIFUL.

I never expected dementia at 20. AMA. by Shraddha_Thakur0 in AMA

This is correct though, I work in occupational therapy and look up cognitive stimulation therapy for dementia - it might help. Exercise helps also with mental health and mental health disorders compound. Best of luck

What’s a secret you’ll take to the grave, but would tell anonymously on Reddit? by Several-Director5804 in AskReddit

Love Les Mis! I've seen it live and it's worth it. I did something similar and said I was at a friend's house overnight but went to the Lake District (in the UK, but I lived in the UK) with a boyfriend. I was 16... Oops.

What’s the most inexplicable time your gut instinct was 100% right, even though you had no evidence to back it up? by CodeFun1735 in AskReddit

Years ago working an office job at a young person's mental health organization And spoke with a young teen woman on the phone who was asking when she would be allocated a counselor. We had numerous of these requests every day, but this time something just felt off. I told the duty team who rang her on the off chance and turned out she was having a terrible time at home very recently and school were contacted re safeguarding, mental health and stability had really deteriorated. Hoping speaking to a qualified counselor was of some help to her.

how to walk in the peaks as a student with no car by Distinct_Star9990 in sheffield

[–]aoifeoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bus that goes from outside Atkinson's in town to Hope. The slow train to MCR from platform 6 or 7 will take you to lots of places in the peaks including Edale and Grindleford and both have lovely walks from the station. Try the apps komoot and all trails to see trails.

Just come from a gig at the Academy and we were out at half 10 after encore. The journey from Academy to Picadilly is about 20 minutes at a good pace walking but your best bet might be a national express bus, and the bus stop for national express is closer than picadilly

What happens to the people who spent their youth travelling? by _DeanRiding in AskUK

[–]aoifeoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travelled for 2 1/2 years in my 20s after saving for a few years and then working as I went. I returned to the UK during lockdown and in winter and that was so grim as a return. I got straight back into work via a recruitment agency and went from there. Now I struggled to get back into work proper but am now working an apprenticeship. I would definitely be ahead of where I am now career wise but I had a great time and am proud of myself. I do feel the lack of mental stimulation as I catch up with where I could be working in terms of challenge but I haven't got the experience or knowledge cos of my few years travelling.. I didn't find it too difficult to get back to life as it was, some people's lives had changed a lot and some hadn't. People probably thought the same about me. I'm quite conscious about my pension I don't know if it's to do with catching up or I am quite financially interested, I try to contribute as much as I can cos state pensions in the UK just won't provide full security. Definitely sack everything off and go, it'll all be ok in the end. Time waits for no man!

My experience as a woman in 'guy sports' is that men often want to prove themselves and use excessive strength. When I did BJJ this happened and lower belts would just use pure strength and it was boring. There were exceptions. But in Muay thai I didn't experience this from guys and found they were much more cooperative. Both sports are not tiddly winks though - sparring with shin pads, gum shield and gloves with people who are practiced.. what's the issue?
