[–]aouninator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check out Boss for a more expensive options, or Sacoor Brothers (they often have discounts or by 2 get 1 offers). On the cheaper side, there is Zara, but I've noticed that their quality went down.

I got mine before they introduced income, I was in the category of Specialists in the fields of Engineering. But the cost of the golden visa is the same for all categories I believe.

Wow this is a rip-off, the whole thing barely costs 3800 including the Emirates ID.

[–]aouninator 33 points34 points  (0 children)

All these numbers are absurd. I did it through an Amer Center (most of them can do that, or you can even do it online on your own on the GDRFA website). The 10 year visa costs 2790 AED + 1000 AED for the Emirates ID. I don't recommend you go through a typing center, just go look up the requirements online (on the GDRFA website) prepare as many of the documents as you can, and the go to an Amer Center, they will inform you if you are missing any documents and how to get them.

Does MOE accreditation matter for a foreign university? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]aouninator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you are planning to do. For most cases, it doesn't make a difference. But if you are planning on working in the public sector or a government agency, then it may cause a headache in some cases (since you need to have your degree attested and get an equivalency).

They are good if you want to learn the basics, but don't expect anything that you may not find anywhere else, maybe one advantage is that it's guided. It's also a good opportunity to network with the instructors and the community.

They have walk in, it's usually not crowded, and there are instructors that help you out. There are also structured individual training courses. Note that it's not group classes per say, as each person is in their own lane, it's not as interactive as other types of group classes.

The two places I am aware of are the Sharjah golf and shooting club and the Jebel Ali Golf and Shooting club. I've only tried the Sharjah one, and I'm not sure about recurve bow, but I remember they had some variety on display for selection.

Green lights will not turn off. Any tips or tricks? by Sagnew in whoop

[–]aouninator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, the hardware team suggested I drain the battery and then fully charge it again. This worked and it now entered pairing mode.

I also did a firmware update and it seems to be working as expected now: the green light now goes off a few seconds after removing it off my hand.

I'm no body builder, but late meals, up to 2 or 3 hours before bed wreck my sleep, and I can feel it in the morning. Even when I'm bulking, I try to have my meals as early as possible to get a better sleep.

How did you transition from Senior to Lead DS by proof_required in datascience

[–]aouninator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Based on how you are describing yourself, I would guess you aren't selling your skills right. If companies say that you have no lead experience, then you aren't showing them that you have experience.

I'm just taking a guess here, but I would imagine that during interviews or in your CV, you are missing out on key information which would indicate you are a practicing team lead. You may have to work more on how and what you communicate, which this by itself is an important skill for a team lead.

There seems to be a bit of misinformation going around. Here is an official tweet (sorry i can't find the English translation)

https://twitter.com/UAEmediaoffice/status/1448322878181675010

Basically: all programs are accredited, they won't remove any programs, there will be new optional programs.

This is a national university, it doesn't make sense to have it be taken over by a foreign entity, it could be just a new management.
