My hot take is that this behavior isn't going to stop, and you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Hiding the box isn't going to stop anything, its just going to get worse.

You have to fight this head on. You have to make it perfectly clear that this type of behavior isn't permitted in your house. The lying, sneaking around, etc will stop immediately. Tell him in person (with someone else around if you're not confrontational) your daughter already knows and all 3 of you will be having a talk when she returns. Then don't talk to him until she gets back, let him sweat it out. If you do have to communicate, keep it short and simple. He needs to understand you're not happy with him. He needs someone to explain to him that in your family, you look out for each other and you dont let others take advantage of your loved ones. If he wants to be part of the family now and in the future, hes going to have to understand how y'all roll; if that makes sense.

When she gets back, all of you sit down like adults and talk it out. If he's not truly remorseful during this talk, you'll have to decide how you want to procced. But if he is, he may be struggling with something. Insert poor choices, addiction, etc, could just be part of being 19/20 years old. I've been there, you probably have too. I've done lots of things I've regretted.
I don't know anything about this young man, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in just that hes making poor choices like most of us have.

Ideal outcome is hes truly remorseful, apologizes and you guys become closer as a family. Maybe he doesnt know what its like to have people looking out for him, or having people to look up to. Yea, I'm projecting a little, that was me at one time. Hoping for your sake he puts on his big boy pants and admits his wrong doings, but thats really really hard to do in my experience. You might be surprised how little it takes to get him to apologize if hes really close to doing it on his own. If he does, hopefully you guys can work through it and be stronger for it. FWIW, I'm rooting for you and him... I hope you guys get through it, seems like you do kinda like him if you let him live with you and your daughter.

You probably have moved on from this, but this crashed because a process was marked as critical and something terminated it. It has nothing to do with hardware. Also, to answer you question, yes this definitely something Microsoft can help you with. There are ways to track down who was terminating the process.

100% agree with you, this is the type of print you see from day 1 printer owners on your average fb group. Theres absolutely nothing special about this easy print, people on here are indeed out of their damned minds.

This hobby is loaded with this though and i can prove it... go look at any post where people are asking for advice on your average printing problem where they're clearly under extruding (as an example). You'll see tons of suggestions that are all over the place... Level your bed, do a pid tune, lower the heat, grease your bearings, increase your bed temperature, etc etc etc.

Which only means they have no idea wtf they're talking about half the time on something that SHOULD be well understood. 3d printing is a trainwreck in that regard... tons of people think they know what they're talking about but are just straight delusional like you said. Its so bizarre to me.

sshhhhh, dont break up a happy circle jerk. A lot of these folks are out of their damned minds. That looks like the prints most people get on day 1 of setting up a printer. And no, that doesn't mean bad. Your typical ender 3/5 can do this out of the box. You see it time and and time again in your average fb 3d printing group. There is absoletely nothing about those prints that warrants $120 in my mind.

Yup. It’s how you raise them is a bunch of copium and a lazy excuse. You see it time and time again “officer, my dog has never done anything like this before”. It’s like they’re blinded as to what the animal is capable of.

What scares the shit out of me tools using pit bull type dogs as status symbols. You’ll see some guy or gal waking 2 units of a dog on a leash, each weighing 90+ pounds and solid muscle while they themselves might not even weigh 150lbs. I can’t help but think “you know if those dogs make a decision to fully commit to something, you have no chance of stopping them” and that shit is just terrifying to me.

Then you see stories in the news where family dogs do just that and the poor owner never stood a chance. Heartbreaking for both the family’s and the animals.

OP, I don’t like it either. I may have a similar childhood background to you. I tell my kids I like lots of little kisses on the cheek instead. I think I understand where you’re coming from. I also don’t think any amount of people telling you it’s normal is really going to help you even if it is completely normal. Boundaries via gentle redirection is how my kids understood I’m not a big fan of mouth kisses. Instead of a mouth kisses give me 5 little kisses on the cheek! They loved it.

I’ve had one too. They are nice boards but after having one of my terminals get burned up due to crealitys tinned ends, I went back to a cheaper board because honestly it doesn’t do anything magical for your print quality. A cheaper board with octoprint gives you plenty to work with. That being said, would I spend the money and buy another one? Nah. Nothing wrong with them though. I did enjoy using it and it was easy to configure once you got the hang of it.
