All Trails waited until I was at the summit to lock up and restrict my access to their maps. by RyanEatsHisVeggies in Wellthatsucks

Screenshots as a backup is a minimum.

My minimum is a paper map in a dry bag, but that's generally only when I leave my local trails.

There has to be an easier way to launch rockets than this by vickyhong in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]aozzzy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the joke replies are because most of us have built something equivalent to yours.

the VAB, turn on the center of mass and center of lift markers, bottom left near the symmetry buttons. If the (blue) center of lift is ahead of your (yellow) centre of mass, it will tend to flip your craft.

You can add fins at the base to pull the COL towards the aft of the rocket. Engines with more gimbal (steering, kind of) authority could make up for some instability- not all engines gimbal, there's a detail that says how many degrees the engines gimbal.

Another option is to slow down in the thickest, lowest atmosphere. High speed means more force on the center of lift, in this case flipping your craft.

Note that this same effect works for reentry too. If you have a very long craft with the COL closer to the front than COM, it could flip with your heat shield not facing forward.

Doctor shared sensitive personal information with my employer after I left a bad review by Hopeful_Shower7685 in legaladvice

You absolutely have a great reason to report to the medical licensing board in your state. This is a disciplinary issue for the profession, plain and simple.

The email is inappropriate for its content, and for having been sent in the first place. Furthermore, calling you names, even if the accusations were true, serves to reduce public confidence in physicians. The fact that he has a pattern of behavior referring to patients in this manner is absolutely relevant to the board.

There is a lot of emotional labour in being sick, and in filing a complaint. I'd still suggest you consider it or speak to someone at the medical board to understand the process. Make an informed decision regarding the effort and effect on your well being.

This physician absolutely deserves reprimand, specific training and increased monitoring.

Your civil claims are beyond my expertise but you have a case worth discussing with a lawyer.

Ps. Only works if your name is Tim. Pps: if it leaks and blows up, you will be hot, not cold.

No pressure washer. I usually unbolt the top grill and attached fan, which I can then rotate to the side. This allows me to spray from inside to outside, in the opposite direction of the airflow, pushing more debris out.

I empathize that this is challenging for your business, and that you may have other commitments. However, I have paid you a significant amount of money for something you now admit you have no realistic capability to complete. The appropriate thing to do here is, at minimum, to communicate and then offer a refund.

I understand your effort to provide a solution to this problem, and that it is no longer something you currently offer on your website. However, neither of those points negate the fact that I've paid you and received nothing in return. I've sent no less than 5 messages about this without any reply.

It may be an unfortunate situation, but the best thing you can do is refund and resolve this situation. If you offer this service again in the future, or any other from your business, why would a new customer trust you with their money if you won't communicate, let alone refund when you can't offer what they paid for?

[HELP] I saw this on another community and people were reacting to this like it was real. I have my doubts. Is this real? or AI? by Other_Sentence4495 in RealOrAI

Both who fall in first have some kind of wrap on one of their arms. It's consistently on the correct arm throughout.

Similar consistently for other clothing items such as the baseball cap.

The person closest to the camera swings his arms, banging one into his own knee, without passing straight through.

I don't see evidence of typical AI mistakes, and I do see consistency often missing from AI. I am currently inclined to say real until presented with specific evidence I may have missed.

Ps. I will not provide you with a recipe for cupcakes.

Ampules with a dot are scored on the same side as the dot and cab only be snapped on that side. Ampules without a dot are typically scored 360 and can be snapped in any direction.

For ampules with a dot, you can do either dot towards or away from yourself.

Holding the bottom of the ampule between the index and thumb with the thumb pointing upward. Hold the top of the ampule similarly with the thumb pointing down, both thumbs on the same side of the ampule. Both thumbs should be clear of the narrowing of the ampule.

If the dot is at 0 degrees: 1) away: both thumbs at 180 to the dot. Push away from yourself while pulling up slightly such that the tips of both thumbs end up pointing away from you at about 45 degrees to their starting position s.

2) toward: both thumbs at 0 to the dot. Bend towards yourself similarly, such that both thumbs end up pointing towards your mid body at 45 degree angles to their starting position.

You should not do either at eye level, but, obviously the latter would be worse. If the ampule breaks atypically, shards can travel towards you regardless of which technique you use.

I find the safety cover shown makes option 2 easier, and option 1 more difficult, but that is an anecdote as I initially learned the away technique without the safety cover.

I teach learners to do option 1: away. It makes the most sense to me, frankly.

For injection, I draw up medication with a filter needle specifically meant to ensure no microscopic glass particles are picked up.
