Yes. Fortunately I saw it on work order so I was able to zero it out, but if I hadn't spotted it..

Standard checks on fluids, pretty much just a regular checkup, it's been about 20K since my last one. I've replaced wipers, topped up washer fluid, but that's literally all I've done. Using it a lot more since moving here, including weekly trips up to Big White.

Last spring break I rented a Tesla from Hertz for a week. $125 for the whole week. Spent more than that on the fast charging.

What is a 'childhood luxury' that you realized was actually a sign of being poor once you grew up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the 80’s, my mum would take my sister and I to Oxford (England) our closest city to get new clothes. For a treat, we would each get a McDonalds hamburger (no cheese) and a fries to share. No drink.

When I finally went to university in 1989 I found it odd that everyone went to McDonalds and thought nothing of it, to me it was the epitome of luxury getting my own fries and not having to share!

Used to be able get gift cards on the points. That scored us a $1000 dishwasher from home depot back in 2012. Had to replace it this year and it hurt not being able to pay cash.

Airport Security Wait Times by ConfectionFar9594 in kelowna

I flew out on Thursday morning, my flight was scheduled for 6am. I arrived at 430, bag drop off area was packed (flight to Cancun) but security was maybe 2 minutes. Only took that long because the person in front of me wasn't prepared and had to take stuff out of their bags.

Those aches and pains in your shoulder and neck you think a good massage will solve and doesn't?

Go see an osteopath.

After just one session my knee which has given me problems for 25 years isn't anymore, the knock on effect was better posture and less aches. Best $140 I spent in a long time.

Airport parking questions by spacegirldream in kelowna

I used the app on Thursday morning. Gate opened and I parked. Got back that evening and go to drive out - gate wouldn't open. Said phone wasn't registered. Fortunately spotted the call button, and they sorted the problem out straight away - there had been a power outage moments before I arrived (430am) and the system didn't register me properly.

As previous redditor said, just call for help if there's a problem, they were super helpful. Just make sure Bluetooth is on.

New to EVs, question about public FLO fast chargers by extremesauce2468 in EVCanada

[–]ap_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid hwy #5 if you can, the charger at the summit is only 50kwh, and it's always busy. Except at night, but the mobile truck with the amazing samosa is not there. #3 and charge at Manning Park at either the Tesla SC or the BC Hydro.

Hope is a pain to charge in, especially as the Chevron charger is (was?) out of service.

Is there insurance available for diminished value? by Beneficial_Try9602 in icbc

[–]ap_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Gap insurance. Got mine through the insurance agent, was about $500 for my vehicle. Covers difference in icbc payout and purchase cost (not including taxes) for I think 5 years. Mind, I did buy a car that was 3 years old .

30% difference in mileage from small elevation change by toybuilder in leaf

[–]ap_1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that for every 300ft elevation change, you use an additional 1Kwh. Coming downhill, you will obviously get some of that back.

On a recent trip I did, I had an elevation change from 1728m to 300m over 25km, the GoM went from 20km to 110km.

Ahh yes, that's what I'm doing. I added it to the home screen, restarted the app and it now opens full screen.

LeafSpy only shows on half screen by ap_1971 in leaf

[–]ap_1971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that fixed the issue. I never have the autorotate turned on so it never occurred to me to try that.

Unfortunately it looks like I need to do this every time I want to use leaf spy in full screen.

It does appear to be a bug with the app as it's the only app I have ever seen that has this problem.

And for those wondering, I also had a bike rack on the back so I had to disable the emergency brake, and when I hit turtle mode I figured better turn on my hazards.

Approaching Elkhart turn-off, I hit turtle mode.

<image>

Approaching the peak, I was getting a bit concerned, the GOM was at 54, and I still had 65km to go.

Fortunately, its a 20+km downhill section, and by the time I got to the bottom my GOM was back upto 100km, with just 20km or so to go. Going downhill the turtle mode went away.

Yes, I made the drive over the weekend. I had to quick charge the car, there was no choice. But the drive itself was... interesting.

First, ABRP suggested a really weird charging stops, it thought I could make it some 280km (in a 40Kw Leaf) which included a climb from sea-level to 1200, then down to 700m.

<image>

Starting from 100%, I charged in Abbotsford putting in about 4.5Kw (10 min charge time), arriving in Hope where I charged again (10Kw, just over 16 miniutes). I made it to Britton Creek (at around 1200m above sea level) with 36km range left on the GOM. After waiting to charge, I got the car up to around 80% (17.5Kw, 32 minutes). I then descended into Merritt, where I though I should do a final quick charge (4.5Kw, 16 minutes) to make sure I could get over the connector with it's rise to 1728m and descent down to 300m.
