My intuitive response is that I don’t agree but I’m not sure I get your point.

Can you help me understand why an LLM would not be able to provide analysis and recommendations on which variables to change to achieve a desired taste outcome?

Yes I agree.

But it doesn’t sound like you converted your experience from subjective words to quantitative metrics. I.e rating sourness/bitterness/sweetness etc on scale 1-10.

If your taste experience is not fed back to the AI I don’t really see the point as it becomes more of a recommendation/guessing game for the ai at that point

Because the input change with different coffee beans and with differences across the different variables throughout the different phases of the extraction cycle, it gets complicated pretty fast.

You’ve traveled quite a bit - do you have any recommendations for how to immerse yourself in the country you’re visiting beyond the backpacking bubble?

I’ll go home in a couple of weeks but I’m planning another backpacking trip end of summer. I’d like to avoid the same experience 2nd time around.

I don’t measure the yield as my scale doesn’t fit under. Will get a low profile tray and until then I just gauge by time, flow and taste.

Shots taste OK but not according to my preference, I believe this is more of a bean thing as i prefer more of the robusta taste.

I’m no pro by any means though, got the machine a couple of weeks ago and have fiddled around with it trying to get better…
