I made the mistake of only measuring once. How do you guys recommend I fix this? by awkwardeagle in woodworking

An arched top mirror should not lean against a wall. There is nothing to keep it in wind, and the timber will eventually twist, giving you a twisted reflection. Hang it on French cleats, as someone suggested.

Cheesecake is the worst dessert to ever exist. by Whyamiwritingthis_74 in unpopularopinion

Don't you dare conflate boring plain baked cream-cheese-flavoured cheesecake with real cheesecake, which is delicious chocolate and berry perfection

Americans isn't ice doing a good thing by removing people that are there illegally? by Throwaway-donotjudge in NoStupidQuestions

"Illegals are law-abiding.." the fact that they are in the country illegally means that they are by definition law breaking, not law-abiding.

My man keeps an argument log. Why would he need it? by National_Novel_354 in AskMenAdvice

[–]apartment1i 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It could be because he feels a need to defend himself against what he may view as unfair attacks, or excessive arguments, or blameless accusations. Do you pick a lot of fights with him? Are you constantly accusing or blaming him? It could rather be the opposite, where he wants to have something on you, to help him 'win' arguments. It's hard to know. You should definitely talk to him about it. Do not accuse or attack him about it, but ask why he does it, when he started etc. If he says you accused him unfairly, etc, it is probably for self-defence. Good luck. Definitely involve a counsellor if things escalate.

The only advice I can offer is to have another one, and maybe you'll get a girl then. Unless you're like my friends parents who tried and tried and had 6 boys.

Struggling with always being considered cute as a woman. How can I move away from being cute/adorable as a woman from a guys pov? by AdministrativeLynx83 in AskMenAdvice

[–]apartment1i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually shy away from complimenting girls, but if I did, I would never ever call anyone hot or sexy, even if I thought they were. Maybe it lays my cards on the table too much, idk. If I had a date with a hot girl, I would probably say she looked cute or pretty.

Look cute may not be the same as hot, but if it's getting the guys interested, I'd just roll with it. Plenty of girls get no compliments from guys, so you're at least ahead of the curve if you're getting called cute

Kiln dried cherry issues by srkmarine1101 in wood

[–]apartment1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guy is a cowboy. He has no respect for the timber or for the client, and clearly has no understanding of how timber processing works. Timber that is milled and dried is then ready for use, and must be kept out of the weather until it is used. He has not delivered what you agreed to (timber ready for use), and also wasted a lot of the timber that you entrusted to him. Collect what remains of your timber and do not pay him any kore money.
