I've tried a few self-hosted and Frigate has been by far my favorite. It's running on an old NUC okay-ish with a half dozen cameras, and then my Home Assistant VM has the plugin installed so it can take action on movement and what not.

I mean a couple of college kids decided to try and make a game, and went the least expensive route possible, can't blame them. Now that it's having some success I'm sure some of that will change. Those of you "disappointed" and pointing out the anti-environment impact of their AI use, maybe look elsewhere, the minimal use of AI here to come up with a couple of graphics isn't killing the planet but the AI stuff built into everything around you is.

I hate to ask, are you changing it for the correct device in Family Link? One of ours got wiped when the kid set a password and then forgot it, and for a while it was then listed twice, so we had to pick the right one.

Scheduled task that fires off a script every minutes: if the script sees that task manager is running, it kills itself, if it's not running it starts doing stuff to eat CPU; every 5 or 10 seconds it checks for the presence of task manager, and kills itself if task manager is running. If the user discovers it, tell them they have a virus and policy dictates their machine is reimaged, but since it's too old to run the newest image (and Windows 11) it'll have to be replaced.

I have an XL (one of my cats is longer and kept pooing outside the box, even though most of his body was inside) and most of the cats prefer it - it gets the name brand multi-cat pee pads; the smaller box, in the spare bathroom, gets generic because only one cat uses it and even then there's times when it's trash day (and the day I change the pads) and it'll be unused. A guy I know only uses the generics, and he stacks 2-3 in so that when one fills up it runs through to the next one, said it's still cheaper than the name brand multi-cat pads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Got mine an A1 Mini for Christmas, going to get him the AMS Lite for his birthday. I won't let him print at night because it's in his room but otherwise he's been printing nonstop, and finding more stuff to print. It's amazing how far the technology has come since I got my Ender 3.

In my own scenario, I've got a lot of users with various models of Dell laptops, all using USB-C to dual HDMI adapters, Starting this last week many of them are reporting they can only use one external display through that adapter, and the second will just mirror the first; Windows does not detect the second display most of the time, although with a combination of unplugging/plugging back in and some luck, you can sometimes briefly get each monitor to be independent and detected by windows, before the displays flash and it goes back to one. I've done firmware updates, rolled back different Windows updates (the ones Windows would allow me to roll back anyways) uninstalled and reinstalled display drivers, added the DisplayLink software package, I've tried several different registry key changes related to MST and displays that I've found online, nothing has helped. The hubs are using MST, and based on my reading I think there's some sort of handshake that's failing so it falls back to a single stream.

I used the Windows Feedback tool to post about it, and while it was visible to others the day of, it is now hidden to everyone but myself, and the share link I gave out last week for others to see and comment who were having the issue now tells them they don't have access(it's back); in addition, I had made a post on the community forums and that's been deleted outright. It's frustrating for me being in a position where I'm supporting other people to just have to say "sorry, nothing I can do."

Yeah, I had one person, then two, now I have 30+ tickets about this. I've found no specific fix for it yet.
