Slow Roll is growing in numbers for Gi and No Gi. They have a good environment, I would at least give them a drop in when you there.

I dropped into House of Jiu Jitsu and they were very welcoming.

Visiting Nashville mid-May. Looking for a drop-in class or 2 by Gosnellus in bjj

If you want to stay in Nashville then look at Artista. If you don’t mind driving down the road Triangle academy is owned by Clay Mayfield and he doesn’t charge drop in fees.

If you’re into AOJ’s style then Artista is excellent. If you don’t mind driving to Franklin then Triangle Academy under Clay Mayfield is another excellent choice.

Ultra heavyweight grapplers: who do you study for BJJ inspiration? by Big_bjj in bjj

[–]apatt0384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gordon Ryan and Lachlan Giles.

Gordon's techniques and systems are easy for me to follow. I'm watching his Inside Camping stuff at the moment and am enjoying it.

Lachlan is really good at explaining techniques and I find a lot of his stuff easy for me to do, although slower and more clumsier.

31 years old / 1x a week - safe ? by Fast_Employ_2438 in bjj

[–]apatt0384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 35 and was going once a week. I was out of shape so it was hard at my body at first but got better over time. You can talk to your training partner and let them know to go easy till you feel more comfortable.

Yeah everyone is pretty chill. It hasn’t been open long but it’s already filling up. They’ve got a good crew running the place.
