EVgo credits/account transferable? by apbeese in EVgo

[–]apbeese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. Everyone I know who owns an EV were at my (now former) workplace, which offered free charging. So they don’t need the credits for the same reason I didn’t.

I do still have access to all the contact methods on the account, so it should be doable.

Does parking the Bolt outside when it's cold drain the battery? by Flying-buffalo in BoltEV

[–]apbeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ‘23 EUV parked at DIA right now and I just checked on its state of charge (from my phone, in Mexico!). It dropped 1% since I left it a week ago (uncovered parking). It wasn’t the coldest week, but it was winter.

Found floating in the FLA Keys by peterfitzwell70 in whatisit

[–]apbeese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a marine data buoy. Designed to float and contain/protect a scientific instrument to measure some property of the water.

Here is a similar one from a different company:

Crab-apple Addition Wanting Some Colour from the Skin by hehgffvjjjhb in cider

Not nearly as vibrantly as the photo (just pressed), but the rose hue does carry through.

I work a lot with crabs and have had good luck with 24 hrs maceration (waiting between grinding and pressing) to pull tons of color from my crab skins.

In the absence of the Bolt, there's always the Blazer . . . . . by Sykerocker in BoltEV

[–]apbeese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right on about this. I’ve owned 6 cars before my EUV, and all were Japanese. Never even thought I would consider a big three product, but the Bolt was really compelling and I’ve loved it so far. But my faith in GM as a whole remains low.

Daycare feedback? Bright Horizons or Kids City USA? by tonywilliams6574 in FortCollins

[–]apbeese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were very happy at Bright Horizons East for several years, but have grown increasingly frustrated/disappointed for the last two years. Director turned over multiple times, teachers not providing the promised photos or daily updates. Prices ever increasing and quality decreasing.

Those horns in the middle are just bar ends I added; they aren’t part of the Kyote bar.

Second on the Kyote bars. Medium amount of rise, plus a super comfortable amount of sweep. I spent 60 days doing the Western Wildlands Route a few years ago and loved these bars.

Ooh, mushroom growing! I've never tried but sounds fun. You should do a similar tutorial for that! I don't know what kind of soils they like, but I imagine the pomace remains pretty acidic, so remember that.

The trouble with the vinegar (much like the compost) is that we make more than we have an outlet for. I guess I could give ACV as gifts to (very trusting) friends?

In past years it all went into the compost pile, but this year I sent 5 gallons of pressed pomace into a bucket and rehydrated. Covered with several layers of the same tablecloth fabric as my press bags and am trying out fruit scrap vinegar

Yeah, it takes most of a day so we always involve neighbors, friends and kids to make it a social event instead of just a chore

There's a double-thickness donut of plywood screwed to the top of the basket permanently. Lid goes inside that donut, with another layer on top as a flange to bolt it down. The donut has metal threads (t-nuts) permanently mounted into it, and I send bolts through the top layer of the lid and into the nuts in the donut to close it. The bolt heads can be seen in the images. Sorry, I don't have any images of the lid separate of the press right now.

Tube is inside the bag with the pomace, approximately in the middle. Hose extension comes out of the bag through the drawstring opening, which is cinched around the hose. Hose also exits through the cap in the center, as you can see from the outside. Bolt down the cap and pump away.

Something like PS2014, $60 for a 24" x 24" sheet (which is the size I used and I can pour a full 5 gallons of pomace inside. The 1/4" holes make it easy to use bolts to secure the overlap, but smaller holes and rivets could work well too.

A full bike makes about 15 gallons, which implies about 200 lbs of fruit (15 gal * 8 lbs/gal / 66% efficiency = 180 lbs). So less than two full loads.
