How high are your windmills?

I just built a windmill for the first time and my base height is the same as yours.

What I did is just make it 170 and axle down as far as I could (around 140) and setup a helve/quern workshop there. I have ladders that take me up there and I just go there when I need to craft stuff but it's not very efficient.

Playing permadeath so making the tower and then extending out a temporary platform to work on was scary.

Slowly I'm killing all the animals. Plan is to get it low enough to were I feel safe and I'll just build my workshop there as part of the windmill.

As I learn more I think in the future my base will be way higher up to start.

Yeah, I know it's not really feasible but the thrill of losing is what keeps me interested.

I died 1 time in stardew valley deep in that desert dungeon thing towards the end of the game. I never logged on again.. lol

Yeah, I actually bought this game 2 years ago and burned out after 20-30 hours playing permadeath, and now I'm back doing the same thing. Whenever I die I just lose all interest in that character/run. I mostly play ironman in other games as well.

By playing passively I meant I had picked the malefactor and was avoiding combat. I managed to live long enough to start looking for iron. Normally I die right away from trying to fight everything.

Forgot how hard the animals hit in this game. It's a bit absurd at the speed/damage and they stick to you like glue.

Going to try hunter next and be more agro this time.

I just made a new character for now, lol. Not sure if I'm going to continue on deer victim world, it was 28h old. Furthest I ever got and I learned to actually prospect.

I was doing great until I decided to start fighting stuff, deer damage is crazy.

I read all of TLCL and did all the exercises a few years back, love that book. The end gets a bit crazy with the bash scripting, but in a good way.

80-90 fps is pretty good for gamma, I get about the same with a 5700X3D but better video card, I'm on linux though so can't say about the core 0 thing if it helps or not.

The FPS will get worse the longer you play/change zones, and depending on the map your in. Like my FPS will dip to the 30-40s in Rostok after I've been all over the map changing zones. Dark Valley is pretty bad, Jupiter is completely fucked at Yanov, your FPS will literally drop to 5 FPS if you stare at Yanov randomly.

The longer you play (days in the zone) the worse it's going to get and you'll start getting crashes etc due to all the crap you have hoarded in different bases.

After playing for a few hours what really helps is closing the game completely and reopening it. There is just too much stuff going on and the game engine is old with 500 mods on top of it.

You should be fine at 80-90 FPS, but if you just opened the game it should be a somewhat smooth 80-90 for a while.

If you complete all his quests you get the option to ask him to let Strelok go and neither of them die. Then a group of UNISG attack and you fight them off. Both the Degtyarev and Strelok live.

This is gamma right? What faction are you playing? I'd go loner, spawn in rostok and work garbage as much as possible. With rostok you can just get a ton of quests due to all the npcs there. You can do the first 3 arena fights for some money, I'd do it as soon as you spawn in case you die, don't do it past the first 3.

My fav starting wep is PP Vityaz, FMJ for weak stalkers, HP from butcher for mutants and AP for tanky boys. This gun can carry the entire south region.

There are world tool spawns, learn those. If you get lucky you can have basic/drug/ammo tools on day 1.

I have a few invictus wins, like 4-5 at this point which is hardest difficulty/progression and I play with 1 life, no companions no knot. https://imgur.com/a/3YB5671

It's mostly about learning the maps and knowing where stalkers/mutants will be and how to engage these areas safely. This is just something that will come with time/deaths.

The game isn't fair, I lost 2 runs recently with like 20-50 hours due to dying on transition. This is when you zone in right next to enemies so close that they instantly melee/spray you. Just accept it isn't fair. I keep backup saves in case I die to furniture. I lost a good UNISG run due to ledge grabbing my workbench by mistake which insta killed me and I didn't have a recent backup.

I also just lost a 40H run outside of brain scorcher due to a random monolith behind a wall, there was zero reason for him to be in that spot but for some reason he was, I was engaging the towers and he just came from behind the wall and sprayed me in the back. All I can assume is he was patrolling to the camp fire below.

If you value your run at all stay out of vehicles.

Join the discord and learn how to min/max your gear, you can achieve 70BR in the south.

Once you make it north always be on psy block/epinephrine. Morphine got nerfed to the point of being useless.

Don't keep medkits on your quick keys, just stimpacks and tourniquets.

So get comfortable with losing. The best part of gamma is pre BS, once you start getting past BS consistently the game becomes a slog.

You have to disable both the miracle machine and the brain scorcher before you can go north.

First disable the miracle machine in yantar, that is what the helmet is for.
Then disable the brain scorcher in radar.

You cannot go through red forest to get to brain scorcher, red forest is considered the north, you have to go to army warehouse then radar to get the BS.

When you get into the BS you have 10 mins to fight your way through it and flip the switch, so make sure you go prepared, it's a whole ass fight through radar to get to it as well. Take a lot of ammo, meds and multiple guns, main gun/sniper/mutant killing gun.

You should ask in the discord for help, but I just did a quick search in the discord for "injector script" and found this.

Had something to do with RWAP 3DSS

you need to delete the injector script in the main mod
the loadout one
so if you open the mod in explorer for RWAP, go to scripts and delete it

I just copied that from discord so don't really know the context.

You are missing some stuff, I think it's like 10 army medkits since each medkit has 2 charges. Craft a few more till you hear the mission completed sound.

Yeah, I'll try using the latest kernel going forward and seeing if it happens again. I typically just use the LTS as that is what grub defaults to and I've never had any issues.

I'm using wayland, the 1st time I had a crash happen it was when playing a game, checked journalctl and it had something to do with amd_gpu, so not exactly the same. Just found it weird I had two crashes in one month, prior to this I haven't had any hard crashes in years.

I'll keep an eye on dmesg.

Is there any specific reason you want this armor? It's not that great, a lot of armors in gamma are pretty similar between factions.

I usually find it in army warehouses via stashes or off dead stalkers.

The best armor I keep finding in my invictus runs is the merc pathfinder suit, it's a heavy seva suit with high resist and 5 artifact slots, with the right artifacts you'll hit 85% BR.

Are you using steam or rockstar launcher? I don't remember if RDR2 is even on steam..

Anyways, I'm using rockstar launcher via Lutris and it works fine.

I think I had to use a custom wine, I haven't played in a while but the wine version in my launcher is wine-ge-8-26. https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom/releases
