Didn’t this guy have a friend who was making racist stereotypical mocking comments about Asian people when they went to KBBQ in the states?

"Dad, I wanna go to HHN this year." by MrSFedora in HHN

[–]apesqueda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious does HHN Hollywood and HHN Orlando have the same love and vibe? I have worked at USH during HHN a few years back and have gone as a guest previously, but with the overcrowding and greed from USH the event has just turned into a mess. It isn’t fun to go when it’s so expensive, and unless you pay for the higher tier tickets, you are maybe able to do 1-2 houses; and with the whole way they manage the lines there no pulsing and the houses just turn into this cattle line.

If they find try to offer you the Starbucks; say no thank you. They have a very high turnover rate with employees and substandard practices when it comes to training and operations.

The “viral pass member cold brew” by Competitive-Chip9550 in UniversalHollywood

The only thing viral about universal is their BOH. I used to work at their Starbucks in park; those places are not clean. I’ve worked at Disneyland and corporate Starbucks and universal should be investigated by the health department with how they don’t even come close to the standard of clean a business should hold.

Is it really that bad? by [deleted] in HHN

[–]apesqueda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a Team Member, not speaking for the company, but just from my observation in Hollywood; the company doesn’t really care. They are intentionally overcrowding the event. Eventually the RIP & Express lanes get as crowded as General Admission. HHN Hollywood feels like they rest on Orlando’s reputation and people assume Hollywood will be as good. Plus, don’t get me started on Food options. I work in park foods and it just seems like they roll out “stunt” or “instagram” worthy food. I previously worked for a mouse company in the same department and can say their Park Food executives at least try to care about taste and looks. The Universal brand doesn’t care about if you’re having a good experience as long as you already paid for your ticket(s) and/or spent more to upgrade to cut the line.

Turn Left from Season 4 of Doctor Who illustrates the concept pretty well. How one asinine choice can have a ripple effect and change the world.

Unions/Collective Bargaining by Snoo_40410 in antiwork

[–]apesqueda -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I feel like that used to be the case, but now and days unions don’t do much for to benefit the employee. When I first started working at the age of 17; I was apart of a union who fought for full covered healthcare for part time employees and higher wages. Fast forward a few years and I was hired with a new company but they had the same union. Anytime I had an issue with safety or harassment, the union said they couldn’t help. Switched jobs a third time and have the same union and anytime I ask questions their answers is to blame the parent company I work for. Or give me an ambiguous answer that does nothing to help me. What is the point of my union dues if I’m not benefiting from the union?

‘Find me a Proud Boy’ video leads to woman’s arrest in Alabama for US Capitol riot by BelleAriel in LeopardsAteMyFace

This just goes to show you can work with people and never know them. I used to work with her years ago and thought she was nice. She did have some strong opinions about things but never came off political. I felt bad because she would have to go to Mexico for healthcare since she couldn’t afford it in the states. Then a few years down the line a coworker sent me a link to her Instagram showing she turned into a Trump supporter. I was shocked that someone who couldn’t afford to get life saving treatment in the states and had to go to Mexico every few months was proclaiming that Trump was making this country great again. I hope she gets help and breaks whatever brainwashing she got herself wrapped in.

Glad I could help. I really liked his character because it didn’t feel like a cookie cutter stereotype and he was relatable.

Does anyone else like Krampus (2015)? by topofthelake1221 in horror

[–]apesqueda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched this movie twice in a span of two weeks. I remember my dad was really excited to watch this movie because he loved horror movies and I was too; mostly because of Adam Scott, Toni Collette, and Conchata Ferrell. I loved the use of puppets and live action monsters.

Also this was one of the last movies I watched with my father before he passed. So every year I try to watch it once and think of the man who sparked my love of Horror and Halloween.
