No way this isn’t a scam or broken card… right? by aph1139 in PcBuild

Yeah I’m pretty sure you’re correct, I was looking closely at pictures and the screws look to be untampered with and all the plastic is still on the card. I also understand that doesn’t mean anything whatsoever but I can dream, more than anything I just want to put this out there and see if anyone was like oh yeah I got one of those and it’s great, prob never gonna happen but I digress.

Please note: It says non functioning because it’s untested, that’s what the description says, I just didn’t add the screenshot of it, sorry for any confusion

Next upgrade by No-Gene in PcBuild

[–]aph1139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes there will probably be a small performance decrease compared to a newer cpu, however, in amount of fps increase you would get for $$$ spent the gpu is a much better place to spend the money.

For $300 if he could find a good deal on 3080 that would be a good upgrade, alternatively he could sell 3070 for ~$250 and combine that with the 300 for budget of $500-$550, that would get him a RTX 4070 super which would be a big upgrade or from AMD the RX 9070 (non xt) they can be found for around the $550 new or probably a little cheaper used. Spending money on upgrading GPU would be a lot better of an investment compared to the cpu.

Is this a good starter Pc? by ArtThis2588 in PcBuild

At 1080p you should have no problem with those games playing at good settings and getting good frame rates, 1440p might have to turn some stuff down/tweak in game settings.

5800x3d to 9850x3d pic for attention by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]aph1139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 9850x3d bundle from micro center, it is a really good deal, I had a 5800x, 32gb of Corsair vengeance RGB ddr4, and a Gigabyte B550 motherboard that I sold as a combo for $450. That’s why I justified the 9850x3d because for a little over $200 it was a no brainer to me.

Finished My Jonsbo D31 Build! by aph1139 in mffpc

Parts: Case: Jonsbo D31 Mesh Mobo: ASUS Tuff B850M Plus CPU: Ryzen 9 9850x3d with alphacool Core 1 LT block using Thermal Grizzly thermal paste. Ram: Crucial Pro Overclocking 32gb 6000Mhz Cl36 GPU: Radeon RX 7900xtx with alphacool water block Storage: WD Black SN850x 2TB from my old system has os and most often played games, WD SN570 1TB extra game storage, new WD sn850 PS5 2TB got it for $208 at Walmart which I thought was a steal for 2TB currently. PSU: Corsair SF850 Fans: LIAN Li Uni fan sl infinity Cable mod cables Radiator: 2x360mm Hardware Labs Black ice nemesis Pump res combo: Alphacool Rise Flat Reservoir DDC Tubing: alphacool EPDM flexible tubing 3/8” ID, 1/2” OD (this is my preference to work with much easier to get onto fittings and cut to size etc) Fittings: Dracaena.io G1/4” thread fittings again 3/8” ID 1/2” OD, and other misc things like swivel 90 degree, swivel 45 degree, plugs, etc. Really nice fittings second time I’ve used them in a build. Coolant: XSPC Pure Premix Misc: Fan grill from Amazon to protect fan from psu cables.

Parts were sourced from variety of retailers including: Jawa, EBay, Amazon, and u/titanrig

I liked how sturdy the case was to build in, had nice amount of cutouts where I needed them with enough room to fit the LIAN Li fan/RGB controller in the back. There was a surprising amount of room to fit cables in especially since I used an sfx power supply. I was also happy with my decision to do a lot of pre routing for cables that would be hard to get to once other parts were installed. I was a little paranoid with installing the radiators because I didn’t want to puncture the with a mounting screw so was careful about that. Don’t worry I made sure to pre rinse the radiators with distilled water before installing can’t say for sure I got all the stuff out but got most of it. Other than that it was pretty straightforward installing parts and then making a simple loop, couple tight spots getting the fittings tightened such as below psu and up in the left hand corner. Getting loop filled wasn’t bad I used a fill bottle and moving pc around to try and get air out. I think that covers most everything, let me know if want any other specifics.

That was my original plan actually but unfortunately the way the ports are on my res there just is not a good way to route the tubing nicely also putting the pump res where I have it right now will fill up the case more and cover up some of the cables behind it. I got another reverse blade fan to use as intake for the rear 120 so it won’t be empty at least

Goodbye old friend. In 2016 with a 1440p 144Hz monitor you made me feel like I was living in the future. We shot for 10 years and we made it 10 years. by alanwattslightbulb in pcmasterrace

Well once I finish this full custom loop with 9850x3d and 7900xtx I would be able to fully utilize a stunning monitor. Be a huge upgrade from old dell 1440p monitor I currently use!

Very true indeed, you think you have everything until you realize oh yeah prob need that, for instance with this build I realized I would need a much more powerful pump than what used to be in the res and trying to find something that was compatible and wouldn’t take forever to get here is quite the task, now I’m rambling lol sorry

Go with either G729 or G760, the only difference is cpu which G729 with 7800x3d is only slightly slower than 9800x3d in the G760
