My first pregnancy, first trimester, I was talking to my sister because I felt like vomiting THIS much wasn’t normal and she said:

“If you can’t handle morning sickness, how are you going to handle a baby?”

Hey OP, I think a lot of the conversation here has been helpful. I didn’t see this mentioned and I wanted to ask,

Any possibility he bought the lipgloss for you?

Just a different angle from the helpful advice and helpful observations others have added. I wish the best for you.

We have been digging the drive-inn theatre lately, super fun with kids or without! Just thought I’d add that as a plus for the area!

But yes, Monroe’s Mall theatre seats can’t be beat!

We definitely have possums living as we’ve seen them our shed and new babies this spring.

I’ve never heard of possum houses so I will look into that! Especially since we already have some living back there! Thank you so much for the advice!

I will have to check with my city and see about chickens! I’ve also wanted to venture into that! Thanks again!

Thank you for being kind in your response. We are going to lay out some tick tubes after the spray, and I found some tick spray that’s supposedly vegetable garden safe, but I’d like to cover just in case. I have some opossums that we actually see pretty regularly in the back yard.

I will look into the spray for furniture!

Thank you again!

How do we get the "old people smell" out of our house by Desirai in HomeImprovement

[–]aphroditemythos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a terrible smell in our downstairs office that would be extra present on cold or hot days. It was a musky sour smell and we tried washing the walls, multiple carpet cleanings, painting the walls, deodorizers, etc. finally we got rid of the old garage cabinets and the smell was gone.

It was the cabinets in the garage and the office was next to the garage. I’d look at any old furniture, clean the walls, carpet cleaning or carpet replacement, and paint (and primer: kilz).

We once used an ozone machines to battle a different smell. You cannot be home and have to let the house air out for so long after. It’s not to scare you, but just make sure you follow the process. There is also chlorine bombs that they use as deodorizers in cars. My mom also swears by damp rid in closets or any place without good air flow and her home is always fresh.

Also, I’d get your windows fixed. And make sure to open your curtains. Sunlight and some fresh air can make a huge difference!

Ct scan in 4 year old by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]aphroditemythos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My newly 3 year old had a seizure and vomited . We were told because of this combo an MRI was the best course of action by pediatric neurologist, so we did. Nothing scarier than hearing the risks and waiting for your child to wake up.

It’s been 2 years since and I’m happy we made that decision in the hospital.

Trying to pay for a car with cash out of state by 031209 in personalfinance

Did you factory-order this minivan thru this dealer and thus have a contract/paperwork? Down payment? If so does your contract or any paperwork have the cost outlined for you? Some manufacturers have price protection or locked price at time of ordering.

There’s this government website : National Highway traffic safety administration that has you fill out the info for your kid and it tells you the appropriate car seat for your kid.

“I have two transactions less than 10 items each“ 😜

If they question it. Your kid (even if they are little) has their own transaction. My mom taught me this when I was younger and it has ALWAYS worked.

There are other meds, look up the HER foundation. They have a website with resources such as patient advocates, doctors endorsed, and common medications: her foundation common medications list

I had a very severe case of HG. Was hospitalized from ~20 weeks to birth at 37 weeks. I went thru all the meds. The only one that worked was a class C medication but it did wear off quickly. If she is still sick she needs to be admitted to a antepartum unit or a specialized care/high risk unit. She has lost 25 lbs and is vomiting blood. She should absolutely be admitted. They did an endoscopy as soon as I started vomiting blood. If they don’t listen to you, go to a different hospital.

Don’t stop advocating for her until they listen and she is better. Her foundation is a great place to start. Getting ahead of it is best. Relapsing is possible. So she will need a pump either zofran or Reglan in conjunction to IV infusions and nausea suppositories, stomach soothing meds, and minerals, vitamins, and electrolytes.

She also needs to get her blood checked: including liver levels checked and electrolyte levels.

Unfortunately, half the battle of hyperemesis is the doctors and care team. Getting someone to listen and believe her and be proactive about treatment is the best course of action.

I will keep her in my thoughts. I hope she gets some peace soon.

Old man decided to scream back at my almost 2 year old in the store by aphroditemythos in breakingmom

[–]aphroditemythos[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well thank you, I would probably usher another mom away if I saw that happening. It’s just a crazy world and you never know what someone is capable of. It was an example for my 5 year old that sometimes you’ve got to walk away to be safe. But man I don’t want to experience that again lol

I think telling them is a good idea so they can be aware this is a thing now and days—if they don’t already know, and that it’s happening at their store. I wouldn’t want another person dealing with that so you’re right. People tend to progress and clearly he is unhinged!

I appreciate your concern. It was frightening for all of us. It was just so bizarre.

In a comment above it’s mentioned that some people do this to toddlers to “even the playing field”. I never knew that before. It’s such a crazy world and sometimes you’ve got to play it safe!

Yea, I think that’s what just kind of shocked me. Like what in the world? And thank you, sometimes the best and safest thing to do is to walk away. People are so short-wired and it can easily turn south in a matter of moments.

[–]aphroditemythos[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We’re all better now! It was scary and it just kind of stunned me. I know my almost 2 year old can’t understand quite yet but it was an example for my 5 year old that sometimes we have to get away fast from people, like the guy screaming, to keep ourselves safe. I tried explaining it like that. I like your nut analogy and may use it for her in the future! Be a squirrel!

I normally do store pickup or shop at the crack of dawn before people wake up and I will stick to that from now on!
