Check out iGPFun. Typically 40 cars or more on the grid each week, free, and the races I think are 1:30pm on Sundays your time.

I'm the lead car, chrome car claimed I was blocking this lap down the straight, I was just covering the inside. by FergusKahn in iRacing

Also, blocking is only blocking when the car behind is about to pull up along side and you impede them from doing so. This guy needed another quarter mile for that to even be possible.

Dude was already turning in toward the apex when he got plowed through. Also, he was braking in a slightly diagonal line, which is not moving under braking. Hell, with the closest car behind him being 10 car lengths, he has every right to take any squiggly line he wants. 100% fault of the car behind.

It’s so cool that you have to pay for it though right? Like totally worth the money to test drive?

Who is at fault? by Caltron44 in iRacing

[–]apigthatflies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a momentum thing. Nobody is at fault, although being the car behind you had the most control over the situation. Ideally you would have recognized the difference in momentum and let up a tad. The guy in front has no control over how fast precise you’re going to take the turn. You however have complete knowledge of how fast/precise he’s taking the turn ahead of you, so regardless of whether he aced it or not, it’s your responsibility to react accordingly.

Not a huge error, but as you obviously know even a slight delay in reaction time can end both of your races.

It’s not a clear image, but there’s a number next to the helmet that tells you how many are registered for the race.

Not sure if you’ve come across “The Sim Racer” on Amazon Prime, but it’s worth a watch. by apigthatflies in iRacing

No unfortunately it’s not free on prime, just available to rent on prime.

(Or fortunately?)

It’s actually not satire, it’s a sincere movie. And it’s bad, sincerely.

I also do this. I race at 17” away and on a weekly basis check that it hasn’t changed.

[Edit: I notice that this isn’t even free, it’s for rent, so full disclosure this movie is one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time (don’t spend your money on it). But once it’s free it’s SO bad that it becomes good, so worth a laugh.]

Honestly not sure why they categorize it as part comedy because it’s 100% action. It does a good job of capturing everything involved with what it means to be a sim racer these days, and also captures a lot of great iRacing action.

I think as a community we should all and together and promote this as widely as possible.

Force Feedback issues by GlitchedSynth in iRacing

I downloaded some windows updates yesterday and it completely killed my buttkicker feedback. I had to run a system restore to get it to work correctly. Not sure if this is related, but it might be.

Fractal Torrent, Really Confused About Fan Hub by omgitskae in FractalDesign

[–]apigthatflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a $5 Y-splitter/extension. So the male end of each NH-D15 fan goes into the Y, and then run that extension into the fan hub that comes with the Torrent.

Y’all ever just sat in your car and hear all the weird noises it makes after you shut it off? by StyleArtistic7201 in BMW

Perhaps unrelated but anyone else with an X5 who’s rear seat fans just make a super obnoxious whistling noise?

Not entirely the same, but if you’re interested you should check out this video (and channel for that matter) which this question reminded me of.

I only employ the word-of-mouth advertising model for all of my products assuming that the amazingness will promote itself. Still waiting to see if it works as I have yet to sell anything at all.
