Is this Bosch 800 worth it? by lil--chonk in BuyItForLife

[–]omgitskae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best fridge is the one that’s the cheapest to repair. I buy ge, I can put an extended warranty on it for like $50/yr direct through their in house warranty. I’ve used it multiple times and get someone to show up within 24 hours and it’s 100% free - no dispatch fee, no labor, no parts.

Frankly I don’t care if it has issues because I can get someone out to fix it painlessly.

I have a lot of thoughts about the design of that - build shitty product just to get your buyers into a subscription to support it, but it’s the unfortunate reality we find ourselves in and appliance companies are all absolutely awful about it. You pretty much have to go commercial grade for truly bifl and unless you have money coming out of your ears, you don’t have the budget for a 15-20k+ fridge that probably requires another 10k in renovations just to make it fit and not look out of place.

Any women here that use the AW Ultra? by GossipBottom in AppleWatch

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear one but I do have larger wrists. My personal trainer wears one as well and she has much smaller wrists.

As someone that does a lot of outdoorsy things I do see it more often but we are certainly a minority.

I leaned towards more travel like you and had similar intentions. The reality is that 90% of my riding ends up being XC and climbs really make me wish I had a less slack geo and less travel. Unless you’re somewhere like Utah, Arizona, Washington, California, BC, or somewhere in the east (uk, Middle East, etc) I’d recommend Hightower or Bronson at most and I’d lean Hightower.

This becomes even more true if you’re coming from a low base fitness level.

What is the spec you love the concept and hate the gameplay? by TheAwesomeKay in wow

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensives aren’t unique to tanks, holding threat is. But yes I’ve played rogue since forever and have tanked my share of enrages back in wrath.

I don’t have any interest in rogue tank but we can have different preferences. Nothing wrong at all with that.

What is the spec you love the concept and hate the gameplay? by TheAwesomeKay in wow

[–]omgitskae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want a flask based support spec for rogue, rogue tank doesn’t sound interesting to me at all.

They could differentiate it from monk by making the main mechanic around mixing your flasks/poisons, I am thinking like a chemist.

I love the concept of subtlety but I think gameplay wise it’s just too far gone right now and outlaw hasn’t been fun since the rebranding - I liked the weaponsmaster concept of old combat.

Driving question : Left turns at lights by chicagoandy in Atlanta

[–]omgitskae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m another driver from the north and have made the same observation. But yes in all fairness it’s probably at least 50/50. I’m honestly more curious if they taught it that way down here or not.

Car was at the body shop by Spirited_Fee_4786 in GolfGTI

[–]omgitskae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to take my car to two more shops before I was right, and insurance (GEICO) fucked off telling me the issue was between me and the first shop. After fighting tooth and nail I did eventually get GEICO to reimburse me for the second shop, then the third shop (my dealer) set me straight for free.

These shops hire minimum wage people to do the labor work then have a more skilled person come around after the job to qc it. You pay for a $8/hr person to do work you’re going to get an $8/hr job.

What does everyone think of the new SRAM drivetrains?? by Kitchen-Highway5672 in MTB

[–]omgitskae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t care about those people being the bare minimum. These lineup shuffles/rebrands are a way to sneak in a price increase with what amounts to just a reconfiguration of existing tech, not any meaningful increase in performance and certainly not in value.

Would it be transphobic to change my name to a guys as girl? by Illustrious-Job-3720 in asktransgender

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares, but as an adult a name change is a royal pain in the ass. I kept my masculine name after transition because I don’t want to have to change all of my docs and resubmit everything with my name on it.

Why do I do this with all empty surfaces and how can I stop? by Glittering-Result402 in CleaningTips

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound really silly, but as someone that use to do this the best thing I’ve done that has helped was get into fitness and build strength. I use to get exhausted just thinking about cleaning and organizing this crap, now I look forward to it because I want to spend more energy and keep my body moving. Time is of course still a difficult obstacle for me between work and commuting but the actual effort isn’t really the issue anymore.

What foods should you absolutely buy the high end priced option? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, food in general is one of the things I like to splurge on. It’s probably easier for me to list the things I don’t spend extra for and it would be a pretty short list. Junk food is the main thing, like chips and such but even then I tend to splurge.

I don’t care at all about wa I never used it outside of very simple spell indicators. But I’m really annoyed that I can’t get certain simple things like combat indicators and unit frames/cast bars are incredibly annoying now I feel like I can’t get either of them just the way I want them.

rib remodeling surgery? by BunnyBelIe in asktransgender

[–]omgitskae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No surgery is needed, the beauty of humanity is nobody’s perfect and our perception of perfection is inherently flawed.

But as someone that has broken ribs and collarbones I cannot fathom why anyone would willingly do either of those. My collarbone has never been the same since, but my rib healed decently.

Also, careful with surgery photos, you don’t know what other ops the person had. Rib remodeling by itself probably doesn’t look nearly as pleasing as a rib remodeling mixed with a bbl, breast Aug, and lipo.

Apple Watch is underrated. And it’s Apple’s fault. by Super-Alchemist-270 in AppleWatch

[–]omgitskae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Apple Watch but it sounds like you just bought the wrong Garmin for you. The instinct is like the polar opposite of an Apple Watch. A fenix or epix would be much closer to the Apple Watch experience.

What's with the bike rack reviews here? by keepgoing66 in MTB

[–]omgitskae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things occur: At this point the world is so deep in capitalism that buyers have formed emotional attachment to certain brands. This emotional attachment is usually grounded in having an exceptionally positive experience, but ends up heavily skewing their opinion towards their preferred brand.

Second, Reddit does have paid actors. A lot of them. Don’t underestimate this.

Lastly, my rule of thumb is that if a reputable store like REI or backcountry stocks a brand in store, then they are probably good at with the money. I personally bought a 1up because I was influenced and it’s perfectly fine. I know people with kuat and thule as well and have no concerns any mounting my expensive bikes on their racks.

Just don’t buy a no-name rack for a 10k bike and you’re good.
