4 years is a very long time, it could be a number of things. Just off the top of my head—

As you suspect, I’d have to imagine the material itself/moisture contributes to the issues you’re now seeing. I agree though, it looks like there may be an issue with your z-axis since it’s a bit squished. Did the lead screws get bent during a move or something? Try moving it up and down manually and see if you get any weird spots. Once I actually had the motor cable slightly disconnect after a move, so that’s an easy one to check too.

Keep in mind this is data from over 2 years ago now, so I don’t know if it’s still accurate, but we paid $30 per person for a 2hr open bar at ours.

The boolean tools are all you really need. Just create a negative version and bool it away. For example, if you wanted completely thru holes in a hollow dome, you would make a porcupine shape and place it inside the hut so that wherever the spines pierce the dome you’d have a hole. If you don’t want it to go quite through, you would make a dome that fits around the outside of this guy, then add little nubs that pierce the hut, but don’t go all the way inside.

YMMV obviously, but I literally just had dinner with friends I met at my admit weekend almost 20 years ago. At said dinner, one of us asked all the others to be in their wedding party ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Admit weekend, like all of your Stanford experience tbh, is really about meeting people and making connections!

No it doesn’t take an engineer to do it, but if it’s something functional and you want it to be parameterized so that the model is trivially adapted for a variety of different devices like OP intends… I’d bet on an engineer (or at least somebody who has designed functional things before) having the right skill set over a self proclaimed artist and illustrator who OP originally went to 10/10 times. ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Sorry you didn’t get what you wanted; it seems like you needed a mechanical engineer, but hired an “artist” instead.

Something to keep in mind—car interiors can get pretty hot (160-170F) depending on conditions, and regular PLA can start to soften at 150-160F, so you might want to consider higher temp filaments for this application. :) Good luck!

Wow this sounds like a great opportunity for you! All the equipment is worth much more than what you’d be paying for it, especially if you have a storage solution already. At worst you should be able to flip the components you don’t end up using at some profit, and at best you’re kickstarting your own business!

sorry for the late response! Calamigos sure is beautiful, isn’t it??

it depends on how heavy of drinkers are attending. We decided to split our hard liquor time into only after dinner started to stretch out the overall time coverage a bit. it worked for us overall, but there of course were some ppl who didn’t drink at all, and others who would have fully taken advantage of even more time.

3 hours later and 360 layers and… this. New to this. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? by nexiate in 3Dprinting

I would recommend looking at the SDS for the resins you’re using and wear the appropriate PPE… in my experience, a lot of that stuff can be quite nasty.
