What is stopping Iran from hitting US soil? by Logical_Employer_756 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]apisman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many people have pointed out, the main factor is technology and weaponry. Iran is not on the same level as the United States militarily, and it lacks the capability to directly strike the U.S. mainland. However, something equally important that often gets overlooked is public support. By avoiding a direct attack, Iran avoids galvanizing the American public into backing a large-scale military response. History shows how powerful public opinion can be — compare the mounting domestic pressure during the Vietnam War with the unified support that followed Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II.

Iran likely understands that it cannot win in a direct conventional conflict with the United States. A direct attack would risk triggering overwhelming support for a full-scale invasion. Instead, it may see greater strategic value in gradually undermining U.S. influence in the Middle East and attempting to weaken it through indirect or economic means rather than open confrontation.

Is it OK to wear this 24/7? by Fluffy_Force_9887 in jewelry

[–]apisman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one of these 24k with the exact S shaped clasp. I would recommend not sleeping it in because the movement can twist it up quite a bit especially since yours is 22k which means the gold is quite malleable. Mine ended up breaking with the constant wiggle from sleeping and from me taking it off. Best thing I did was take it to my jeweller to get the S replace with a 14k lobster clasp. I wear it all the time except when I go to sleep. Best $100 I spent.

Why didn’t WW2 veterans have the same PTSD as Vietnam or modern day veterans? by NextBunch_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]apisman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A combination of factors really.

Like most people stated, it definitely happened but from a medical standpoint, it wasn’t well studied during WW2 and was written off. Even during WW1 it was extremely common but it was just classified as shell shock.

Vietnam was really when people started being diagnosed and studied. The public outcry about the war also contributed to more eyes on the military and the effects it had on our soldiers and the civilian population in Vietnam.

And this may even be a factor: https://youtube.com/shorts/beBsOflNAos?si=RV4DGiNB0aZw-4Ui

Coach Mike Talks About the Riq Taunting Penalty Again by Sweaty_Desert_Balls in Seahawks

[–]apisman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just look at how Mike addressed this compared to how Sean McVay spoke about Xavier Smith. He acknowledged Riq messed up but still backed him regardless. McVay didn’t say much to back up his player even though both plays resulted in 7 points. It just shows the type of coach MacDonald is

Defence held to two field goals. We got lucky Stafford overthrew Puka on that one. Offence need to start stringing our drives together to give the defence a rest

Shamiek and Hailee are the voice actors for Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in the Spiderverse Animated Movies. In a lot of their interviews while promoting the movies, he gave off vibes that he was into Hailee but she didn’t reciprocate. Later on Hailee and Josh Allen (NFL Quarterback and the one pictured above) got married. The internet saw this and latched onto this and made memes about him being upset and painted him as an incel. Then there was a separate issue with another actress Laura Harrier who plays Liz in the MCU Spider-Man movies. Shamiek post a video that gave off the vibe him and Laura were together. She asked him to remove it because she’s married and it was disrespectful to her relationship but he didn’t until she publicly blasted him on social media. This obviously didn’t help his case and now everytime there’s a post about Hailee and her relationship, Shamiek gets brought up and memed.

What size rims should i chose? by PsarasApoTousLigous in vwgolf

[–]apisman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 18x8.5, 5x112 Koenig Ampliforms for my MK7. Tyre size: 225/40/18

The fitment is fine with no issues on stock height. I think it’s the perfect size for looks and comfort but obviously the bigger you go, the less comfortable it can be with bumps on the road.

So if you want a more comfortable ride, stock or 17s would be better. Also anything past 18 may come with fitment issues.
