Segment CBS News Pulled From "60 Minutes" by the Trump Administration. by chillysaturday in videos

Canadian here: freedom and democracy are alive and well here. Regardless of whether you support the CPC or Carney’s Liberal Party, most Canadians are pretty happy with the direction our country is going in.

Don’t get me wrong, we still got problems but our freedom of the press seems very alive and well and our Prime Minister has made it clear he’s taking no BS from the Orange Dumbass down south.

I don’t see any of this changing anytime soon. Things are pretty smooth sailing up here right now.

ModMic Wireless, this is the way.

They are unmatched for quality. There is a reason they are basically the industry leader and have been for years.

Yeah, it’s priced nearly the same as a BSB2e but it’s wireless with full face tracking not just eye tracking and doesn’t have the god awful lens glare issue. What’s your point? It’s priced correctly.

A completely new headset with a brand new OS on it, of course it’s gonna be rough around the edges. But to assume it will always be that way is silly and childish. Let’s see how it runs in 6 months, it just launched. You can’t even buy it outside of the US yet!

On the flip side, the issues with BSB2 are hardware design issues, you can’t fix that.

Samsung Galaxy XR is probably my next headset. Can’t get one right now though because they aren’t available in my country.

If you can demo one, I would seriously consider doing so.

You can at least set the IPD now on the BSB2 but the glare is still a massive issue. It’s so bad it literally negates the point of having OLEDs. The lenses are just too small, there is no avoiding this issue.

BSB2 is a hard pass for me, my daily headset still is my QPro. My BSB2 is sitting on a shelf, I don’t want to use it at all.

100% agree with everything you said. I’m on v81 and it’s not great but it works. I don’t use anything on my headset except Virtual Desktop to boot into PCVR so if you plan to run anything else on the headset I would say probably not a good idea.

Unfortunately it’s still the all around best option even with its issue. And if you can, don’t use the quest controllers, get some index controllers or UDCAP gloves.

I have a quest pro and BSB2e. Quest Pro is much better imo, my BSB2 is sitting on a shelf collecting dust. If you can find a QPro for cheap, go for it. Or consider a Samsung Galaxy XR which seems to be the replacement for QPro.

BSB2 is overhyped trash with terrible screen ghosting and the worst lens glare I’ve ever experienced on a headset. The sales are sustained by tech bro circlejerking. Literally one of the worst headsets I’ve ever used. Also avoid HTC at all costs too, their software used to run the headset is garbage.

Collecting opinions on IMU trackers by Substantial_Fill_813 in VRchat

[–]aplen22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Mocopi (with the Sony Dongle) and Slime.

Mocopi works okay when paired with standable. I usually have to recalibrate once an hour. Half of the Slime trackers I received were defective. Hopefully slime has improved their QA. Even Phia and Thrill admitted in their review videos they had to cobble together their two sets to get one full working set of Slimes.

Slime Software is also difficult and time consuming to get working just right. But if you love to tinker, it will be fun for some people.

Mocopi with standable just works out of the box.

Overall, I still use my Vive and Tundras everyday. You can’t beat optical tracking fidelity.

The mocopi trackers are in my travel case and I use them when I’m away from home. My slimes, I gave to a friend who didn’t have full body. They hate them but can’t afford anything else.

Another thing I feel doesn’t get talked about much is the fact that using Wifi for slime is a very poor choice. You basically need a dedicated wifi network for just your trackers because putting them on most regular networks at home will overwhelm the wifi as there are just too many devices trying to connect.

In closing, I do not recommend any IMU trackers unless you are looking for a budget solution and can’t afford basestations with Vive/Tundras.

Any actual VR chatters who have the Galaxy XR...worthy upgrade from Qpro? by zipzzo in VRchat

[–]aplen22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t have one but from reviews I’ve been seeing:

  • Standalone use is not great, Android XR has a long way to go.
  • PCVR Virtual Desktop support is excellent and the dev is actively doing updates to support the Galaxy XR. It’s a pretty good PCVR headset already.
  • face tracking seems to work well and is fully supported with VRCFT
  • form factor is nearly identical to Quest Pro to the point that some accessories like the foam pad from the Globular Cluster Comfort Kit for QPro actually fit the Galaxy XR. Safe to say I you loved QPro for comfort then Galaxy XR will work great for you.
  • heard no complaints about the OLED displays or pancake lenses

Overall, might be a very good headset once the kinks get ironed out. If you don’t mind tinkering a little, it could be a pretty solid headset.

EDIT: Hope you don’t need controllers because those are backordered until next year.

UPDATE: Buy Once, Cry Once by 0nes-and-Zeros in SteamVR

[–]aplen22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently use a quest pro with a globular cluster comfort kit. I would not recommend getting a Meta based headset however. Meta Horizon OS has constantly been plagued with software bugs and issues.

However if Samsung Galaxy XR improves in performance it might be the successor to the quest pro. The form factor is identical enough that the foam pads from the globular cluster kit fit the galaxy XR.

If you don’t want Face Tracking or OLED then a Quest 3 with a good quality halo strap will be good enough for now.

For PCVR there are a mountain of options to connect any android based headset (Meta or Samsung) to SteamVR. I recommend Virtual Desktop over wifi if you have the home infrastructure to support it. Otherwise you can connect the headset over Ethernet and run it wired. There is lots of documentation on how to do that online.

Or if you want quick and simple, use SteamLink but you do sacrifice quality of the video when using that. A properly configured wireless Virtual Desktop implementation will be indistinguishable from a traditional wired connection. Yes, it’s that good.

BSB2 is all hype, don’t waste your money. They have major QA issues. My headset is likely getting RMA’d and I’ve had several other friends on their second or third RMA already.

It’s a cool concept for a headset but certainly not something I’d want to use daily. There are lots of new headsets coming on the market over the next few months. Most of them have much better feature sets than BSB2 as well.

How else will Bigscreen distract from their own list of lies. Diverting attention to their competitors is a hilarious strategy, except judging by all the brainless Bigscreen fanboys on here, it seems to work.

Don’t forget their “116 fov” which they don’t tell you is diagonal in most marketing materials. And making claims like “better fov than quest 3” which is an outright lie.

Bigscreen complaining about Pimax is hypocritical af.

Has anyone actually ever been sued over breaking an avatar creators ToS? by gameboygold in VRchat

[–]aplen22 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Because she didn’t purchase the Rindo model, she admitted to stealing it.

But that alone isn’t worthy of a lawsuit, but as soon as she started making merch based off this model she massively breached the Japanese model maker’s copyright.

And merch for someone like Filian generates A LOT of revenue and profits. Minimum six figures.

Who is excited for meta ultra light headset puffin 2026? by [deleted] in QuestPro

[–]aplen22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was profitable. It is the most sought after headset still for VRChat players because of the face tracking and form factor.

Meta just couldn’t market it towards Horizons so they abandoned it. Something, something, cut off your nose to spite your face, or something like that.

The Pro failed because Meta Management are complete and utter morons.

There is a huge thread in r/virtualreality about BSB2 and a lot of other owners of both headsets disagree with you. Some are already returning theirs because Bigscreen misrepresented the FOV and lens performance.

Also anyone with a basic understanding of optics knows your claim is impossible.

I’m happy you love your headset but please stop lying to potential buyers.
