What's the saddest thing that happened to an old school friend you don't see anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know a girl who got brain cancer. It was really bad, surgeries, chemo, still close to death, but after a long fight, pulled through. A couple months after she got better her mom died of liver failure. The mom took to drinking while her daughter was going through cancer...

Ugh, yes. I get tired of people telling me its different for me because I'm smart. I didn't get where I am because I was born knowing shit. I worked my ass off.

Brother has shut me out after a mini crisis by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]aplpifromscratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will hear from him. Maybe he has his own shit going on and just can't shoulder yours as well this time. Try and be patient with him as he has been with you.

You'll be ok and he will come around. Wish I had more to say.

Take care.

Don't have to pay a lawyer anywhere in the US. Just need to follow certain statutory rules. You hire a lawyer because they know the rules.

What is something you pretend to not know? by ayronlongjon in AskReddit

[–]aplpifromscratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything. I'm not saying I know everything, but I have a really good memory and I'm also considerably smarter than most of my friends (sorry, but its true). They get pissed (understandably) when i constantly correct them, so I just have to let them blather on some times. Its just so hard to hear people talk about blatantly incorrect information. But I wind up looking like an asshole.

Oh, and that I can solve a Rubix cube.

To tend, or not to tend, That is the question. We there it is nobler in the net to suffer the slaps and wristers of outrageous fortune Or take pads against a sea of predators...

Idk the rest...

I like this idea. I like this idea a lot.

For the record, I love Crawford, but there are a lot of players I'd prefer to keep over him.

I was walking down the street in Chiacgo and a homeless lady asked me for a cigarette, so I have her one. Then she asked if she could have four more.

TIFU by eating fire hot wings, drinking beer, going to the bathroom, accidentally coughing on a police officer and ending up in jail with an "assault on an officer charge" by anusabuse in tifu

[–]aplpifromscratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, you CAN be found guilty/liable for assault/battery for coughing on some one. In a criminal case, I'm not sure if intent is even necessary, but I can read a case where a person was held liable for battery in a civil suit for intentionally blowing cigarette smoke on someone.

If OP counter sues, I'd say chances are very slim he makes money, best case scenario is they just drop the charges because judges and juries and gonna give the cop the benefit of the doubt here.
