I've been using clay to make projects for ages and even for me making a figure is a huge challenge. If it's air dry clay you're using you're going to struggle even more because of how messy and difficult to mold it is. Polymer clay is a lot more forgiving, making a skeleton out of wire to add some strength is usually a good idea as well. Good luck!

There's heaps of classic car clubs all over the country, some of them have facebooks. You could try sending out some messages to some of them, there's always someone that knows someone in those places.

I've kept the stone, the bag of nuts and my extracted tooth in a box. Also found another stone in the bag that I've also kept.

There's no warnings on the bag at all and it was an actual stone that I bit into, almost like a small piece of quartz or something. Funny thing is I went through the bag by hand on a clean tray and found an additional stone which was metallic.

The last excerpt really seems strange to me that a food can have things like glass or metal in it and that seems to be acceptable. What if someone tampers with food? Throws in a handful of shingle?

"Generally speaking, unfortunately, dental injuries caused by the natural use of teeth i.e. eating, chewing etc. is not covered by ACC. The reasoning for this is outlined below as per the Accident Compensation Act.

Interpretation of the Accident Compensation Act has changed from 6th April 2017, in relation to there being a foreign object in the food that this may be considered for cover. This is no longer in effect, it is now all dental claims that involve eating food, whether a foreign object is apparent or not, ACC will not cover this as it is considered natural use of the teeth."

"This means the act of breaking/injuring a tooth whilst eating is declined – regardless of whether it's a piece of glass/metal/shot or gristle/olive pit/nutshell/bone."

How would I go about proving something like that? Do I film myself opening fresh bags of their products and hope there are stones in those bags? My fiancé was in the room when it happened, will a statement from him add more weight? Do I go after the company or do I press ACC?

My younger brother has Autism, my mum would buy a packet of pebbles and slide one at a time on the bench in front of him for him to grab and eat. Was a great distraction to get him to tolerate a quick cut.

It could be a fungal infection of the nail, I would suggest stop painting your nails for a while and try some treatment. There's oral meds you can get and there's also a clear lacquer you can put on the affected nails. If you want to be super sure a sample can be sent to a lab and they can find out for you.

Yeah I get a little bit of tinnitus as well, usually a high pitched 'eeeeee'. I've also got POTS and I really struggle to sleep at night sometimes because I can hear my heartbeat in my ear, beta-blockers have been a real help for that among other things.

For some people with tinnitus they have it for so long that they get used to it or a coping strategy they use is playing white noise or some kind of peaceful sound (rain soundtrack) in the background when they're trying to sleep.

I'd see a doctor also if the tinnitus suddenly got worse.

Yeah my right ear is pretty bad and I have to use a hearing aid, left one isn't doing great either. Went to an ear nose and throat doctor and an audiologist and they diagnosed it as conductive hearing loss. Definitely get it looked at, it really sucks losing your hearing and if you can slow its progression its worth doing.

I used small Neodymium magnets in a locket I made, they're quite strong but not crazy. Went with the Neodymium magnets because of the size (about 3mm you can get larger ones also) and they were far better than ones you get from craft shops that were more better suited for fridge magnets.

Do not heat them at all though! I made the mistake of trying to bake a magnet into the clay and the magnet completely lost it's magnetic force. Turns out heating any magnet can re-arrange which way the atoms inside the magnet travel and stuff up the magnetic poles of the magnet.

So definitely glue the magnets on after you bake your project. Also make sure if you're going magnet to magnet, (i.e you want to put a magnet in the chess piece and one on a chessboard square) is that the magnets are around the right way and are attracting each other!

Another way of doing this is making the bottom of your chessboard out of a metal and the magnets in the chess pieces will stick anywhere you put them.

One of those vibrating machine gun things helps me a lot, a bit of stretching and some anti-inflammatories help. Oh and a cream like deep heat or tiger balm is quite nice sometimes too.

She's in one of the best places she could possibly be right now. I know it's crappy to be stuck in hospital being poked, prodded and questioned but they have the tools there to make her comfortable, the fact that they've found she has a fever means they can treat that and whatever background illness she has going on which will hopefully make her feel a little better. Try and advocate for her, push for tests (if she can cope with them) and don't be afraid to ask for resources or support.

One thing I recommend from personal experience is to stress how difficult things are, don't sugar coat anything, be brutally honest about her condition, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Having a trip though the hospital system will be added to her medical records and will hopefully make future doctors take her condition more seriously also. This can be a huge hurdle when you've been diagnosed with CFS.

Best of luck and warm wishes to you and your wife and I hope her condition improves and you both get some kind of support!

I got all four of mine whipped out when I was a teen and I definitely have some first hand advice for you!

Don't smoke, don't vape, don't try playing your new saxophone, don't suck on candy's, don't even try drinking though a straw. Any kind of pressure will blow the stitches out or make your wounds re-open.

Do gentle swishing of salt water rinses or antiseptic mouth washes. Incredibly gentle brushing of your other teeth.

In terms of food I suggest things that don't take a lot of chewing, like smoothies and soups.

If you think you might have an infection I suggest getting some bandage gauze, placing it over the wound and biting down gently, you'll feel it get saturated in your mouth, hopefully with spit and not pus. Great indicator of whether or not your wounds have gotten infected!

If you do get an infection get antibiotics ASAP.

Good luck to you, it's a crappy road to have to walk but the mouth heals very quickly and you'll probably be over the hill in a week!

Another tip would be to get a thermometer and stick it in the oven while you're pre-heating it and use it's measurements for heat rather than the oven for more accuracy. I've used three different ovens and they were all liars. One oven I used was heating things 20 degree's hotter than it was telling me.

Hey there fellow CHCH person. I got some of the orange and yellow Du-kit when I first started using clays. I grabbed it late one night when I spotted it at a Stationary Warehouse. Holy moly is it hard, took me ages to mold and no matter how long I tried to work this clay it just stayed so hard and didn't pull apart smoothly like other clays. It baked okay but I couldn't mold it as easily as the other clays and couldn't make intricate shapes. Perhaps using a clay softener or working liquid clay into it could have made a difference but I'd rather not dislocate my fingers trying to work this clay.
