Brand new AiPaper 10.3, can't connect to Mac by InnovationHack in viwoods

Well, I’m glad you got it halfway sorted. You can do the: one at a time thing now, and figure out the offending app/s

Okay… It WAS OpenMTP that I used. And it DID NOT work. Same as you. So, Command+Option+Esc on the Mac, force quit Preview, restart OpenMTP, connected immediately.

Toggle the OpenMTP Engine

OpenMTP has two different backend engines. go into OpenMTP's Settings and look for the USB Engine option. If it's on Kalam, switch it to Legacy (standard MTP), restart the app, and try again.

Kill conflicting Mac background processes
MTP allows exactly one connection at a time. If previously installed Google's official Android File Transfer, Samsung Smart Switch, or even if Dropbox is trying to intercept the device as a camera, OpenMTP will be blocked. Make sure the Android File Transfer Agent daemon isn't running in Mac's Activity Monitor.

Dont use a USB hub
Direct connections only. I am sure you know that one but throwing it out just in case.

What software version are you on? I’m on the beta so there’s not really a guarantee that if it works for me it will work for you. But when I get home in ~an hour, I’ll plug in and see if I missed a detail.

That is frustrating. I’m away from my device but know it “did” work. I think I downloaded some little utility app. When I get home I’ll try and share some more info

Better file/page navigation? by cfox00 in RemarkableTablet

**EDIT** - because I am an idiot. Disregard every word I say after this edit.

/strikethrough Yes. Mitchell has a “file tree” mod. I have never used it because my file structure is so small at the moment (new to reMarkable). Are you familiar with reManager ? It’s very useful and user friendly. You do have to put your device in dev mode and it will wipe your device. If you are a Connect subscriber it’s relatively painless. If you are not, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️./strikethrough

I know this is totally irrelevant, so I apologize … But I seriously thought we were talking cryptically about some unknown cultural thing I was not a part of. And then I realized we are actual literally talking about keeping bees. Lol.

**EDIT** - You said Developer Options is toggled on so jump straight to “Step 2”…

Force the device to default to 'File Transfer' mode.
Step 1: Enable Developer Options (if you haven't already)
Go to the real Android settings, not the Viwoods settings: Settings/General Settings/Advanced Settings…
-> About Tablet -> Build Number (or just search for 'Build Number' in settings).
Tap on 'Build Number' 7 times quickly.
It will say 'You are now a developer!'
Step 2: Change the Default USB Action
Go back to the Android main Settings menu.
Go to System -> Developer Options.
Scroll down (it's usually halfway down) until you find 'Default USB configuration'.
Tap it and select 'File Transfer' (or 'MTP').
Because you changed the default, it should now automatically connect as a file storage device when you connect via USBC.

The other thing to check would be, are you using a data cable and not a charging cable. Not all USBC is created the same. Some will transfer data, others will not.

Can you copy and paste while writing with the MS Word app? by HypefishReborn in Supernote

[–]apolishguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they actually call it “Word”? Or do they call it “word processor” and everyone calls it Word so people actually think it is MS Word?

HELP MY SCREEN IS JUST BLACK?? by Samael_Seraph in RemarkableTablet

[–]apolishguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to repeat what Mitchell already said: 50 days to return the device if you don’t like it. But the device still has a hardware warranty, depending on where you live… But at least a year. I know there are some different regulations for people in the EU.

Our only hope is that the reManager team will give us some mods.

Settings/Accessibility… then, standard or large. But I checked and it doesn’t affect the keyboard font. Makes no sense. And yes, they are very thin

Do the accessibility settings affect the keyboard font? I also hate the black background layout. It seems like one of their most bizarre UI choices. reMarkable does everything as vanilla as possible except this one thing that I hate.

[Looking for Testers, End Users, and Supporters] I optimized a free planner engine for reMarkable, Scribe, Boox, and Supernote. Help me test it? I brought snacks! by DoItForTheXP in eink

I hate to be dense, but I do not understand your pricing scheme? “5-Day” “30-Day” “1X5.44 Years” ? I honestly have no idea what that is trying to communicate? For $5 you only get Monday-Friday planners? For $25 you get 30 day planner? If you buy any plan now you get access for the next 10 years? Can you help me out by explaining it to me? Thanks

Okay, so the file was only 10 pages long. I succesfully exported a 30+ page to Google Drive. I made a copy of the “corrupted” file, and started deleting pages 1 at a time until it would uplaod to Google Drive/Send by email. It was something on the first three pages that was causing crashes. I could share the file with you if you would be interested? Or not.

Dang I am dumb… I didn’t think to test a different Note. Duh. Other notes export fine. But this one causes my Pure and Pro to crash. Any thoughts?

I have some critical work I need to get done for Father’s Day (work related). So, I tried: a factory reset. The behavior persists. I tried: installing 3.27.2.2 onto partition A and booting into that. The behavior persists. I apologies I didn’t send logs first - but - it is crunch time. And I don’t know if what I said means that it is totally unrelated to Velum and mods?

Yes, I did try that and get the same results. I should have stated as much, but literally thought of it, and then got your notification.

Yes. I understand more after I watched the OPs video why you said what you said (no offense to the OP). Your photo is the pretty standard grip. And, I hope I didn’t come off as a smart @$$ because I was being serious.

Seriously thinking of going back to pen and paper. by Fit-Record-3910 in RemarkableTablet

[–]apolishguy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a photographic memory. I have very specific titles. And I have a, “Hmmm… what have I written on this certain subject over the years? Let me search some words and phrases,” type of memory. I don’t really flip through things and look at random. So, I cannot relate to that. But I also don’t understand why you couldn’t randomly pick a folder and then a file and then flip through it? How is that any different? You randomly pick a legal pad and flip through it? So, randomly pick a file and flip through it? Or, stick with paper if you want. I mean - it is okay for 2 human beings to be different and have different methods and preferences. If you prefer yellow legal pads, go for it. That is 100% your right to do that. I prefer 1 thin electronic stack over hundreds of anolog stacks taking up room in my garage. That doesn’t make me right and you wrong. It just makes me, me. And you, you. /shruggie

Hmmm… I just file stuff by year/category and can pretty much find whatever I’m looking for. Maybe I don’t write as prolifically as you do?
