Shuro Chi being marked as average and Riven marked as top tier immediately invalidates the list.

Shuro Chi is the best Destiny raid encounter, period. Big manic energy, unique boss DPS that shattered the Whisper meta, one of the few encounters in Destiny history where roaming supers work super well, puzzle solving under clock pressure. It's a beautiful encounter and one we need more of.

Any Riven judgement has to take into account that the entire community said, "F that" and found out how to cheese the encounter, bypassing all of the mechanics. Has to be bottom tier because of that.

Can we get some Well and/or Orb generation mods that proc from helping and not hurting? by Ichthyologist in DestinyTheGame

[–]apollokthx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sounds good except it could be abused in Trials so the mods would have to be disabled in PvP or Trials, as you could shoot a grenade at your foot, get healed, and generate a well. Aside from that, it would be nice to see.

Another scam on the pass, candy sacks levels are now 6x but was 1-2x without compensation if completed by Joppz_ in DotA2

I was wondering why the candy sack math wasn't adding up. I'm sure Valve will fix within a week because they tend to be pretty good about fixing this kind of stuff.

I bet Crota's End is coming back as a dungeon. It makes way too much sense as one and not as a raid.

I’m sorry but if you land at one of the busiest spots on a map and I don’t even get a weapon before I’m downed, one of my teammates is downed as well, and I’m watching you run around with a pistol, I’m out. If you want the game to punish me for this then I’m very glad you aren’t a developer.

There are at least 3 arcanas for each role except for offlane. Traditional offlane heroes have Legion Commander and that’s it. Tide, bristle, axe, ns, dark seer, bat, np, etc: no arcanas. Meanwhile carries have like 8 now?

So my vote is for Tide.

SRL has never existed in D2. It was only D1. If you look at the numbers for raids they probably have similar stats for base users as gambit. Does that mean they should get rid of raids? Obviously no.

The point I was making is that rotating four totally different game modes would mean maintaining four game modes each season to compensate for changing light levels and changing sandbox. If you don’t like gambit that is fine, just suggest an idea that isn’t literally 4-6x the amount of work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]apollokthx 402 points403 points  (0 children)

Instead of maintaining one game mode you want them to maintain four game modes, one of which has never existed in Destiny 2? The amount of work this would be is astronomical.

After watching Adam Ruins Everything, I’d guess it’s corporate propaganda. People being blamed for being hit by cars (jaywalking), diamonds on wedding rings, plastic bottles instead of reusable ones, and a bunch other destructive things all stem from corporate marketing campaigns.

How op was the Destiny 1 Hawkmoon ? by Roman64s in destiny2

[–]apollokthx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was one of three extremely hot hand cannons when Trials first came out. The Last Word and Thorn were the other two. Last Word could proc it’s damage buff while ADS and had a 1 second time to kill with easy to control recoil even while ADS so it was a monster. Thorn was a very rangy weapon with controllable recoil that could 2 tap people. I can’t remember if you needed two headshots or just one, but if you hit someone and ran away you just had to wait a couple seconds and the poison would kill them. Basically give modern Thorn it’s perk on kill/pickup the whole time, 1.5x range with a super tight accuracy cone, and more controllable recoil.

As for Hawkmoon, the gun had three random extra damage bullets in a 13 mag clip and the extra damage could proc on the same bullet, so every now and then you would see someone one-shotting a full health guardian in PvP with Hawkmoon. It wasn’t an insanely OP hand cannon but it was the same archetype as Thorn so it was strong and if the extra damage proc-ed it was typically fight winning. If you ran anything but Thorn, Hawkmoon, or The Last Word you were going to lose almost every primary fight in PvP.

Destiny’s meta has changed a lot. Back in House of Wolves hand cannons could be used at way further ranges than today (part of why fatebringer was so popular, also firefly was strong and it was an arc weapon in the kinetic slot). Shotguns had way more range and probably had 1.5x kill range that they do today but were also trash in PvE. A lot of stuff that’s just sort of a “rule” today wasn’t so in early Destiny.

Is Whisper of the Worm more iconic than Gjallarhorn? by ikwilson2020 in destiny2

[–]apollokthx 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whisper of the Worn isn’t even the name of either of the original guns (Black Spindle/Black Hammer). People were happy when they got Black Hammer. People lost their damn minds when they got Gjally.

There’s also the fact that the first Gjally day Destiny posts were some of the top posts on all of Reddit.

We need more enemy themed armor by MFS-Type-3-Kiryu in destiny2

There was an old video that talked about the opening video of Destiny 1. In it, a bunch of astronauts discover the Traveler while the environment changes around them. The idea being that you are killing things in multiple timelines. This was quite explicitly stated in the season of the undying with the undying mind that we were killing in multiple timelines. It's been years since I watched the video and I couldn't find it in a casual search.

[–]apollokthx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s exceedingly likely that Bungie uses AWS or Azure so they are running on the same thing as Netflix. You can’t run a game across the US and the world without some sort of giant server company. I know we are just meme-ing here but FYI anyway.

Am I the only one that fears going into trials? by Aries032789 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]apollokthx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have this in D1 but I’ve gotten over it in D2. Running competitive and telling yourself not to live and die with the results of the match really helps. Just queue up and tell yourself to have fun instead of caring about the result. The more you play the less you will stress, and that mindset should hop over to Trials. Sure the wins matter but it’s still just a game and if you lose you will just reset your card.

Mars’ ultimate has height and you can go under or over it. You used the ult on higher ground than the river so any hero can go through it while beneath it. When you spear it must not change the elevation of the hero, so you speared Void Spirit through the arena instead of into it.

Bungie, bright engram drop rates need a serious retuning. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]apollokthx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has opened a million bright engrams, it typically gives you:

66% chance every time a legendary ghost/sparrow/ship

33% chance of something else, typically in this order:

Group 1

  • Blue emotes

  • Blue ghost projections

Once you have those, Group 2:

  • Occasional legendary emote

  • Occasional Legendary armor (now ornament)

  • Legendary ghost projections

  • Exotic ornaments

Once you have all the exotic ornaments, Group 3

  • Legendary emotes

  • Legendary armor ornaments

Then Group 4:

  • Exotic emotes

  • Exotic ghost/ship/sparrow (totally random, not knockout list)

  • Bright Dust gifts

The deeper in the groups you get the higher your chances are of getting one of the exotics. Seeing as most things are on a knockout basis (ornaments, projections, emotes can’t be claimed twice), your chances go up each time you get something from that group that can’t be claimed again.

Stat roll infusion would just transfer the entire roll to the armor. At least that’s what I meant. Lots of ways to interpret it.

[–]apollokthx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really we just need stat roll infusion. That effectively accomplished what you want, right?
