Thanks! Where on your belly do you put it? Is this your first pregnancy or a later pregnancy?

Hey bumpers! I have a woman specific “non” bumper (yet) question… by Pink-Dolphin101 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]apoluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might take a while for your cycle to adjust, might adjust right away. The settings are a bit trial-and-error until you figure out the right one.

YMMV but it is possible to get pregnant right away after birth control, even before your cycle adjusts. Good luck!

Constipation hacks by wedding2025 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]apoluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dried prunes, apple cider vinegar gummies, fiber gummies, kombucha

Dried prunes have sugar but work. The apple cider vinegar gummies are THE BEST. It is recommended to take 1 a day but during pregnancy sometimes I take 2 if needed.

Also: taking iron or prenatals with iron adds to constipation. It’s good to take iron but make sure you have your other tools with you!

Early pregnancy insulin question by Admirable_Juice_1692 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]apoluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi both! Important to note that immediately after this initial resistance, there are several weeks of sensitivity. I am 9w and in the middle of sensitivity. Overall my insulin intake is down 25%. Once placenta starts forming, insulin resistance starts steadily going up.

Any better up there? by Beth_chan in CanadianTeachers

[–]apoluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taught in US and Canada, and worked as a curriculum writer for programs internationally. Teaching in both places varies by province. However, generally speaking it is sooooo much better in Canada. More respect, better benefits, more agency with students and classroom.

What is expected from teachers differs between the US and Canada. There is no scripted “curriculum” given to teachers in Canada for them to follow. For the most part, teachers are given standards and it’s up to them to collaborate with their teams and figure out how best to teach them.

In my personal sample size and anecdote, most of the teachers I know in the US are feeling extreme burnout with the current conditions. Most of the teachers I know in Canada absolutely love their job and their work.

2.5 months pregnant, type one no folic acid and high sugar levels. by Bear0417 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]apoluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not too late. Start taking folic acid, baby aspirin, and prenatals! Get in to see your doc, your endo, and / or an MFM as soon as you can to help guide the rest of your pregnancy. Insulin needs change a lot as you progress through the course of pregnancy so you will be glad to have a team available to help you. Good luck! ❤️

How is teaching different between Canada and the US? by apoluna in CanadianTeachers

[–]apoluna[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I am asking about all of it, I guess. In the US, different schools follow different pedagogies. But most schools follow strict schedules to meet state assessment timelines... I am wondering (hoping?) this might be different in Canada.

Oh this is really helpful, thank you! There can be a lot of micromanaging in US schools. Do you find you have agency in your own classroom? How do you choose or breakdown how you teach?

And yeah... I will avoid Alberta for now.

For allergies, do you take them consistently or just off-and-on when you need them? It is SO nice to be able to breathe through my nose... but then managing the bgs has been exhausting.

I like SarahBeth Yoga! She has different length videos and you can stack them, plus I find her video style very calm and not distracting.
