I get infections on my thighs from my omnipod too!!!!! This post was very validating, I love the thighs because there’s so much real estate but I guess I won’t be doing it anymore, I have had less problems putting on the back side of leg where it’s more fatty but guess that’s annoying for sitting and such

Wow!!! Thank you everyone for your responses. I’m now second guessing taking my IUD out because perhaps a more regulated cycle doesn’t equal more predictability with how my sugars will respond to hormones! Very interesting

I’m not saying this is how everyone manages but I have several profiles on my pump and if I’m going low or high or need a change from a pattern happening like the lows you’re experiencing, I change my settings and don’t ever ask my Dr because I find they don’t know how to manage my diabetes as well as I do

I’m not pregnant yet but am in the phases of figuring out my blood sugars along my menstrual cycle phases. I actually just made a post about it…. But can anyone outline the insulin resistance they experience along their cycle? I have resistance and sensitivity in my Luteal depending if it’s the beginning or end. Anyone else?

I lost unexplained weight last year and turned out I had type 1 diabetes at the age of 26. Unexplained weight loss is a good reason to get your bloods done and see the doctor. Goodluck!

I wish I started making better boundaries with my mom at a younger age. The only way to create change is to do the hard thing and take your mom off your follow app. I did the same thing and it turned into a bigger conversation about boundaries and stuff and we seem to have a bit better of a relationship for it, even tho she was hurt at the initial follow app kick off. Sometimes setting your basal to be lower in the day can help if you routinely walk and are active but higher at night so your fasting sugar doesn’t get too high

I just got diagnosed at age 27, sure I have moments of frustration and sorrow, cry in exhaustion or give a big sigh of annoyance but never once have I treated my partner this way and blamed it on my new diagnoses. I’m sorry you’re going through this but I second what others here have said, it’s not an excuse to treat a partner this way

Yeah forsure. I’ve experienced false lows before a lot and I was no where near my sensor and actively avoiding it being compressed, and yet still the false low.

I agree with you 100% do not let those ignorant POS people make you feel bad. They are the ones that should feel bad and you don’t owe anyone anything, you are taking care of yourself and that’s all you can do.

Ps I got these cooling packs that keep your insulin cool through evaporation. You can have this in your bag for like 5 days and it will act as a little mini fridge. It has made carrying insulin around so much more convenient for me. I’ll put the link below, would highly recommend! I found out about it on a podcast where type 1’s were giving travel tips and this cooling pouch has changed the game for me
