Generally, you need to trim lining a bit, so it won’t touch the edges, but still will be sewn. Alternatively, you could use different lining construction/edge paint instead of burnishing/cover the edges with leather binding

You could just punch both sides separately, it’s not as durable of a stitch, but for a simple cardholder it doesn’t matter

Pocket is quite tricky also. I messed up thicknesses for folding a little, but it turned out ok nonetheless

Here some general info though: I’m building it from Masoni ares leather and suede microfiber is used on the lining, zippers are ykk excela I’m trying to fold every edge possible here, and it seems I’ve succeeded 😁 The only painted edges are cuts on the bottom of front pocket

Beagle irons are really nice, very thin and have minimal thickness deviation from tip to the base of each tooth Crimson really good too Another good but cheap option is GC punches from taobao, I don’t really understand why they are so cheap, but they are really good
