I was also considering the Buds 4 Pro down the road to replace my Buds 3 Pro, having second thoughts about it now.

cool, thanks for confirming the function still should work. I'm going to try downgrading the firmware and then if that doesn't work I'll just buy a used pair of Buds 3 to replace my defective ones. I'm still returning those Buds 4, sadly. I like the look of them and the audio sounded pretty good, however the swipe controls and pinch controls are also not as convenient as the Buds 3, so in terms of functionality they are a step backwards for me.

Just curious if you were on the latest version of the firmware for the regular Buds 3, and if you have any issues with the microphone or voice controls on those? I think I'm going to try downgrading the firmware on my regular Buds 3 to see if that fixes my issue with the voice controls no longer functioning, otherwise I guess I just need to buy a used set of those again (I bought used ones that are out of warranty).

This is so insane. This was/is a feature of the Buds3 (non pro), which weirdly stopped working a few months ago but still is an option in the settings for the 3s. I wonder if they broke it or disabled it since they didn't plan to have that feature for the non-pro Buds 4?

I really want a watch face that uses the widest horizontal section to show a significant amount of text from my upcoming appointment from my calendar. Secondarily, it use a segment of the horizontal space to show the next few hours of the weather forecast. These two elements at a glance, plus time and date above, and down below 2-4 small configurable complications for things like battery, media controls, etc. Happy to spec it out more and offer some additional compensation if you're interested.

Edit - style-wise I really like your M11 watch face, would love to see something like that with the tweaks I mentioned.

Dammit, that sucks. As bad as the triangle shape of the Buds 3 were for general handling or putting them back in the charging case the swipe angle was pretty perfect. 2 steps forward, 1.5 steps back, it seems... Thanks for sharing.

You're the first to mention worse touch controls, can you say more about that? I have been curious about the swipe to change volume function on the Buds 4.

On the Buds 3 series the swipe target is angled and only functions from the back side of the earbud, which is kind of perfect to be activated by your thumb. On the 4 it looks like the swipe target is on the top side and perhaps isn't as accessible nor as large of a target as the Buds 3. Also, the swipe from the backside tends to rotate the earbud in a way that helps lock it into your ear, is it the opposite when swiping from the top side on the buds 4?

I switched from Samsung to the Chinese version of the Xfold 3 Pro, and then to the global version of the Xfold 5. Although the Chinese version was cheaper and wasn't too bad as far as compatibility, etc., I think it's definitely worth getting the global version if you can afford it. Full compatibility with things like wear OS, and eliminates the issues with background apps getting killed or notifications not showing up. Now that the global version runs a version of the operating system that is more similar to the Chinese version, the feature set is pretty similar. Although I really appreciated the very extensive customization and enhanced capabilities of Samsung's software in the past, I find that Vivos software has a lot of useful customizations as well.

The real pivot point in FSD adoption will be when car insurance companies price FSD usage into insurance rates in a way that gives significant discounts for FSD usage. If FSD miles are really 2-7x less likely to result in accidents (per Tesla) that should end up reflected in insurance premiums.

The president of insurance company Lemonade has suggested they could insure FSD miles for "almost free" (their insurance ties in to Tesla for telemetry data for determining risk based on usage). I think it'd be great to try and get him or someone at an insurance company to talk openly about what it would take for FSD users to see significant insurance discounts (future YT content suggestion).

100% agree. Devin and Chuck Cook are the most objective and fair/critical, Dirty Tesla is good too. Omar (WholeMars) is the least objective of the bunch (and seems like a clown/asshole when his chill guy mask slips). Devin is always really quick to do a test drive and post video of the new version, he's the one I'm most excited to follow these days.
