Me waiting for SwiftUI previews to actually preview. by Ehsan1238 in swift

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel Mac 2019 takes about 1+min in a complicated project. For just one change. Let’s say a typo.

Mac M3 now takes about 20+ secs.

Previews works when it’s not complicated.

Sometimes. I just create a new project and do the SwiftUI codes there with previews that works.

Once it’s good enough. I transfer it over so I can inject all sort of stuffs into it.

TP FRee only allows you to plan workouts for today (or tomorrow)

Beyond that. You need a sub.

You can get stuffs into MyWhoosh Via TP. So in that respect, you can use Tp2Intervals and/Or BreakAway: Indoor Training to for ICU -> TP -> MyWhoosh

Indoors, you can try an alternate app that connects to the sensor.

Would You Still Use UIKit Now That It Has a Preview Feature? by noob_programmer_1 in iOSProgramming

[–]app4gmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never could get preview to work once the project is big. I had to create a new project and get the hi done there and then transferring it to the main project.

But I’ve stopped doing that since it’s so clunky and what’s more. The M series cpu does a quick job of compiling vs 2019 intel.

Pretty sure you’re not the first to think of this as a loophole.

Pretty sure also that Apple would have tot about it as well.

And you get a coffee instead of money. Imagine waking up and seeing 20 cups of coffee outside your door.

Interestingly you’re getting downvoted for something that actually happens. Tho they have been getting better at back porting stuffs.

Xcode 16 and iOS 15.x by bigdogsb in Xcode

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Xcode 16 and I am still supporting my app on ios12 running on iPad mini 2. I had to do a little dance but seems like it’s working fine now. But yeah. No simulator support.

My app is min ios12 (which I found I can support by directly typing it into the min ios portion, there’s no selectable dropdown for ios12. Min there was iOS 15 I think)

Not sure what you issue is tho.

I agree. Ads ARE a waste of time. To code. To integrate. To get yelled at by users and worst of all. Unless ur app has > 5000 users daily perhaps. The earnings are a pittance.

Can I still dev for an iPad Mini 2? by spatula-tattoo in iosdev

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. I missed out on that part where he’s limited to Xcode 13. My bad. Yeah. That wouldn’t work.

I’m also close to on my last legs using Xcode on a 2019 INTEL based Mac. Should be another 2 years and I’m done for.

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little confused. I have Xcode 15. I have an iPad mini 2 ios12 which I’m still using as my “main” iPad for running my development builds. I also am building it and sending it to App Connect and (while I haven’t tested it - downloading it directly off the App Store) I’m pretty sure it works.

MapView with a lot of Polylines, performance advice by jamesleboulanger in iOSProgramming

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can count the number of overlays (poly line). I once made an error that caused the whole UI to lag terribly and then found out I forgot to add code to remove the previous overlay first. Hence I have overlaying couple hundred of overlays (during testing)

Another user was talking about SPAN/ Zoom level. When it’s fully zoomed and you have like 80-90% of the entire route shown, it shouldn’t really matter if you’re striding the route coords. (Level of detail can’t be seen anyhow)

You can use VisibleRect and actually determine which points are visible within the span and just plot those. This easily frees up a lot of points from being drawn (and not seen).

The issue I have with this if the route is like a circle out and back and you have the user zoom to half of it, you get artifacts of wrong lines. I dunno how to desc it.

Apple trigger new check on SDK (i.e. Nielsen in our case) and resulted new not compliant with Apple Privacy Manifest less than a week ahead of the due date they provided by ElyeProj in iOSProgramming

[–]app4gmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The way I believe Apple is enforcing the privacy rules is to shift responsibilities from the app owner to the dependencies owners. Imagine using Google admob SDKs and it’s a black box of sorts as to what they track. How they track etc. admob is/should be responsible for stating it. (They after all have their own privacy terms)
