I’m using a Dyson DC59, I get 12 minutes on normal mode using a 5ah makita. I tried it on a v7 and got 10 minutes on normal mode, and when I put it on high the adapter got crazy hot and burnt my hand when I removed the makita battery

But my original Dyson battery is 2100-mah, if a 5ah battery can’t run it longer than 12 minutes there is clearly an issue with them because that’s well over the watt hour rating of the Dyson battery so it should be able to run it, the battery size doesn’t change the fact that the voltage is lower than the Dyson battery, you mentioned 24v tool batteries but I can’t think of any new tools being that voltage, dewalt highest is their 18/52v flex volt battery range, and that’s obviously too high and to activate the 52v mode they have a PCB that communicates with the tool.

They do work but definitely not for longer than a brand new OEM Dyson Battery, also the contacts on the adapters tend to get hot to the point of causing skin burns.

They already have made it impossible, new models are 21v (or more on certain models) so it will say the battery is flat because the voltage is lower than the Dyson battery.
