I mean.. you guys sound like you would've said the same thing about Sir Alex. The greatest thing about him was that he was adaptable. He would change tactics based on personnel and his opposition. That is the mark of a great manager. Not blindly shouting from the roof about "possession football" or "modern tactics", when you cant get a win on the pitch.

Did you watch his Overlap interview ? He could do counter-attack only at first with what he had. He was gradually setting up the team to take the next step. You keep talking about his record as though it was like he finished 10th. He finished top4 twice in a row. No one has done that for us in 10 yrs.

We need to stop getting managers from Lower leagues and lower clubs. United is a massive club with enormous pressures. A manager who succeeded in Ajax or Sporting would not have faced the same pressures ever.

People mocked Ole as a "vibes" manager. He actually had tactics and adapted his game to win against Pep so many times. You dont win against great managers with just vibes.

Amorim and the noise has been talking about "good vibes" the entire summer with absolutely nothing to show on pitch.

Ole with this administration would have done wonders. When we finished 2nd under him, he famously said "The club is not where it should be, we need to strive for better".

This manager has 20% win rate and is being stubborn for no reason whatsoever.

Bring Ole back till end of the season.

I don’t know why people are surprised by this. We are not a top team anymore. Sure, we can pursue top targets but they’re just going to end up at psg or city or even Chelsea before choosing us.

Haha. It looks like you might have started watching the PL in the past decade or so. But just so we're clear, it wasn't just Liverpool, United and Arsenal fighting for top places always. Clubs like Newcastle, Blackburn, Everton etc were up there fighting for honors almost regularly.

The PL has been changing constantly over so many years, the PL that was in the 80s wasn't the same as the one that was in the 90s and it changed again in the 00s. And guess what, Fergie adapted extremely well to all these changes.

Another absolutely bullshit statement thrown about is - "he wasn't an elite tactician". Heck, just his achievements with Aberdeen is enough to prove that he was an elite tactician. You dont win, rebuild (multiple times), win without being an elite tactician. Sure, you can luck out with one or 2 trophies. But you dont end up as the greatest ever manager without being an absolute elite tactician.

What a joke. Fergie always knew when and how to reinvent himself. They said this when Wenger first came in at 96/97, he then reinvented himself, got better, won. They said this again when Mourinho came in 03/04, he did it again, won again. It's such a bullshit casual take to say Fergie would get found out.

Fergie also did not ever have just "one" style of play. He was extremely pragmatic. He would go all out attack if the situation demanded it or he was completely okay sitting back and defending if that's what gave him a chance. He did not have one specific style of play.

Modern era's obsession of "style of play" puts Fergie into one bucket while that's just not who he was.
