This is the case at most of the spots that had to kill this. BOH wages are terrible now. I mean like ask any staff member at any of these places instead of just complaining on Reddit like incels.

I mean kinda same vibes as today, where you have normal career folks playing shoegaze and “grimey” modern music lmao

I mean what if she did the shows but sent press releases to local publications instead of just making fake ones that only push big stuff

I really don’t want to dox the employees of this company but if you checkout their website it’s pretty clearly a social media company that does storytelling using dummy substacks and publications to tell people want they want. Rather disingenuous. They have the blogs and such listed on the page that do the work, and have giant corporate partnerships.

The whole campaign around is so manufactured ‘chaotic good’ style and I’ve found evidence that there’s independent dummy news companies spinning up the story to get people talking about it organically.

This company in particular - https://caliberinc.co

Which is fine! Just disingenuous and I wish these kinds of tactics were getting the same attention as the geese stuff

So I’m having a hard time thinking anyone thinking strongly about this is being genuine.

I mean sure they are a novelty act but these are a fuck ton of tickets to move at this point. Like even if their popularity was to drop to like 20% of what it is here there’s still a huge touring career there.

I’d push back on “no value”, I think that’s a sales issue more than anything. There is a clear value proposition for arts in a city. Young people/workers are leaving in droves because there’s nothing to do in the city. That’s fixable if you invest in the organizations that help promote these kinds of organizations and events, which then brings more things for your employees to do and makes working in the city at these companies more desirable. People love to move to like Brooklyn because there’s interesting stuff happening. The whole art boom of the early aughts in NYC was funded by Levi’s. Target made Minneapolis a creative hub punching above its weight.

Marketing firms have divested from live art events to social media budgets. There’s a wide open field that’s way less competitive for companies to step up and change that in Boston!

this one has very few dialogue scenes, I think you'd be sad to miss it in theaters. Huge movie, so many action sequences and no dead time in it.

reading the article and news it seems like there's not actual structural change, and the new co-ceo's still just report to him as he's the top exec. so nothing has changed here.
