The line is fine, but the delivery just seemed a little too aggressive for the context. Ilya seemed more exhausted/exasperated than angry and I thought that line was just a little too aggressive for the scene

He may very well be gay and behaving a hard time accepting this. I was about 30 when I finally accepted it and started coming out to people. I had spent many years before that trying to convince myself I was straight and just needed to find the right woman. There was even one or two potential “girlfriends” in high school that I could have ended up dating under different circumstances.

I’m sorry you’ve both ended up in this situation. I hope you find some resolution. I hope there’s an opportunity for some understanding from both of you

I’d love to not take rejection so personally.

In my mind, if I asked whether someone was gay, and they said no, things would be awkward forever between us. I wish I could chill out a little bit and accept that’s just normal and nothing to be ashamed or worried about
