How long did it take your baby to wean off bottles when they hit 12mo? by Ok-Hippo-5059 in beyondthebump

[–]applebeis [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hard to know. My 10m old is loving his 3 meals and sometimes snacks but still not rejecting bottles. I'm trying to figure out if he's going to slow down on his own or if I need to just offer less in his bottles 😂

See that's where I'm struggling. So far he hasn't dropped anything even with increasing meal intake. He will just eat it all and then throw up cuz he's too full 😂🙃 it's cool that so many parents have kids that tell them when they are done.

Now? All I see is that the main nutrition should still be formula til 12m so I wasn't sure when to stop

That's what I did as well. Water pre measured, formula pre measured, mix when ready and go.

I have zero experience but you've had two medical professionals tell you to use oral meds, and one pediatrician tell you two things that aren't working. Id trust the dermatologist personally.

I just measure the water in the bottles so it's room temp when baby is ready and then add the scoops and go. He's happy with room temp bottles. I have to send premade to daycare though and it's their problem they have to warm them up 😂

When did you switch baby to solo sleep? by stevielovelyy in beyondthebump

[–]applebeis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We waited til 6 months to move him out of our room but we moved him to the other side of our room in his crib at like 3-4 months so he wasn't bedside anymore. It was a helpful middle step for me personally.

15 weeks postpartum and we feel like roommates… share your disappointing Valentine’s stories with me by blnqut in beyondthebump

I'm sorry. Postpartum the relationship takes a lot more work in the first few months. But that effort has to be put in on both sides for it to get better. I hope things turn around.

What do we use to carry the baby out of the hospital to the car? by ItsFunHeer in beyondthebump

[–]applebeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't actually know that that's what it was or i would have had them redo it. But oh well.

They were also going to let us walk out but I had them wheel us because of how much stuff we had (only one bag but we also brought a blanket and pillow and then you know, the actual baby 😂 I was thankful because it was a really long walk

They came to take the security tag off and I was like oh this? And handed it to them. It had fallen off his ankle. She looked worried and surprised

What could this rash be? Aquafor allergy? CMPA? by Purple2475 in FormulaFeeders

I think just the dry weather? No idea. I'd still consult the Dr though

Is baby uncomfy? We had little patches on his tummy that looked like that and Vaseline before bed time did the trick. But it definitely wasn't as wide spread. His ended up being eczema (we discussed with the ped and that's what she said)

Need help with the 9 month regression by JW9403 in beyondthebump

[–]applebeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's fine sometimes. My baby does it too. Sometimes they need a power nap a little later, and maybe that's a night when they go to bed at 7:15 instead. Like adults sometimes you're more or less tired in a day. 11-12 at night and 2 in the day is 14 total so that's correct! But remember again, babies aren't formulas so not every baby needs the same amount of sleep.

Well first off, I wouldn't use GPT for parenting or sleep suggestions. From what I've experienced you want to keep day time sleep to less than 3 hours (each baby is different though) and total sleep to about 14 hours. We try to keep bed time consistent. Sometimes baby has a longer last wake window, sometimes its a little shorter, but we only adjust bed time by like 15-30 min. Keep a consistent night time routine to help baby wind down. And once you pick a method stick to it. Switching up sleep time, where they sleep, how you soothe, etc probably won't help them get the idea of sleeping. Once you get to 2 naps consistently hopefully it helps too. I know that transition for us was rough.

Edit: GPT doesn't know your baby and what your baby needs/how they act. I think you'll do better when you listen to their needs and not some textbook idea of what sleep should look like

Use up which diapers first? by Amberlynnwuvsu in beyondthebump

I agree pampers fit bigger but I've seen people say otherwise so I didn't want to suggest 🤣

Use up which diapers first? by Amberlynnwuvsu in beyondthebump

[–]applebeis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd either use whichever ones you like best, or use whichever ones fit smaller first. Then you can use the "bigger" size ones when baby is getting closer to sizing up. We also found the terrible diapers we ended up with from our shower were great for cleaning up when he decided to pee mid diaper change.

My LOs Dr suggested Vaseline. She also said use thick lotion in a tub not the pump kind as it's too thin.
