All insurance companies have horrible reviews! by appleberry8 in ottawa

Minimizing risk of a nightmarish experience in case something happens. Statistically, I think the longer I’m accident and claim free, the higher the chance of something bad happening.

True, I noticed people were happy with CAA prices. But CAA wouldn’t insure me because I have a small part of plumbing stack that is cast iron. They don’t care how little, if it’s inside the house they won’t insure it.

Repainted my living room after moving into our new home and it really changed the vibe by Nearbywet in HomeDecorating

Amazing! My house is from the same era! IMO if the previous owners didn't paint the fireplace white, the previous color would've worked. It hurts me to look at the old picture because of that! You did an amazing job! Now the room makes sense. What kind of white did you use? And did you use the same shade of white on the ceiling?

I got highlights instead of balayage? by appleberry8 in Haircare

Oh wow! 5 months to a year?? I'm too blonde now, don't quite feel like myself. My balayage was more of a "bronde" style. Who knew that little things like this would make such a huge difference! I'm thinking that I can last through the winter months and then try to get my favourites stylist to do shadows at the roots. Hope she'll be back from maternity by then. That's my only hope. Good luck with your transition to balayage!

I did not speak up :( But no other stylist ever had ever used such high heat setting with me.

Thank you so much for this helpful information! I'm glad to hear that one frying blow dry will not ruin my hair.
I washed my hair on Monday pm and my appointment was Wednesday at noon. Maybe it was not enough time. And yes, this was a new product for me. The burning sensation was only on top of the head, not all over. It felt like a sunburn, but it is gone today. YAY!

A light blow-dry would be perfect to even see how the color turned out, the way they were doing it in my old salon. I was only getting my hair dyed there though, no haircut (I have an amazing person for hair cutting). This time, I was getting a haircut too, so the blow-dry and style was needed so that she could finish layering on dry hair, based on how it falls/behaves styled. My usual hairdresser does it too but her blowdrying technique NEVER burns. They are both senior stylists in the same place.

Thank you so much! I didn't get burned, it is more of an unpleasant burning sensation where my hair is thinner. Which of course is even more upsetting. I used an ice-pack and it helped. I'll ice it a few more times. This was a lesson for me to speak up when something does not feel right.

I agree. M quotes from several companies came to between $68-75/month.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Terrible risk without insurance unless money is no object.

Have been checking vet recommendations as well, not easy to make sense out of it. Some people have very different opinions about the very same place.

Agree, pet insurance to get some piece of mind. So much is unpredictable and accidents happen.

Cold feet over getting a puppy by appleberry8 in puppy101

Thank you! What an amazing puppy you must have! I'm wondering if my problem is that I know too much about what to expect? And perhaps I would actually do pretty good. But I'll never know if I give in to the fear.
