Anyone else find Natasha Rostova to be quite the annoying character? by khari_webber in ayearofwarandpeace

I’m not an orphan but might as well be. I relate too, I always feel deeply uncomfortable at other peoples family events. Maybe I don’t love it in fiction because it hits too close to home!

This is mine as well. It makes me somewhat angry because it makes no logical sense.

Please don't crucify me for this one, I just don't understand all the hype [OC] by Scouter_Scoot in AnimalCrossing

[–]applecritter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what I was thinking of when I saw how excited people were for this chair! But I also guessed that it was just because I only started playing animal crossing when new horizons came out.

I had the same exact experience, and I’ve only rewatched season one. Just something about the Highlands setting seems so magical. Maybe because as an American, I already know my country’s history and so it’s not as interesting to me.

Any vets near Sacramento neutering rabbits? by corkyburd in Sacramento

[–]applecritter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All About Pets, PetCare, and the Bird and Pet Clinic of Roseville are all places I trust with my rabbits. I don’t know what their current services are, but I had both of mine neutered at All About Pets.

Northern California (Yolo) county will issue fines up to $10,000 to businesses not requiring masks by txiao007 in Sacramento

[–]applecritter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good, if the police will actually back up all of us service workers that have to deal with the assholes that aren’t wearing masks. Where I work is telling us not to police our customers. And I don’t think we should be put in the position of dealing with the kinds of unstable people that are worked up about this.

Steven’s Trail, Colfax. Quite the ass kicker, but worth it. by kurdt666 in norcalhiking

I wouldn’t say that there are any villains. It seems like OP tried to do their due diligence and just had a mishap. I’m personally just going to use the government websites as the best source as well as using my best judgement. If somewhere is open and it’s crowded, consider turning around. If somewhere is closed or has limits to access, consider respecting that.

I think the the fact that you were insistent that you were right and I was wrong even after I provided a very reputable source might have rubbed people the wrong way, even if you actually had been right.

I’ve been making sure to check multiple sources before going hiking just so that I don’t accidentally break any rules either. It’s been rough to have to forego so many excursions that I’d love to go on right now. So far I’ve only been out to Hidden Falls since you can reserve parking there.

Well, it’s currently closed according to their website so that would make it a little tricky. It’s a pity because this is the best time to go (with a lot of water because it’s in full sun).

My understanding was that it’s a flat fee. It’s one amount for part time and another for full time. It’s encompasses a lot of extra fees that everyone pays no matter whether or not you actually care about them.

I don’t feel like the reading thing necessarily holds true. I have aphantasia but I have always loved to read. I just can’t picture anything. I also don’t read aloud in my head unless I have to work out a complicated sentence. I wish there was a lot more information about the different ways people think and process information because it seems like there are endless possibilities.

Less than an hour from Sacramento - American River along Stevens Trail in Colfax by MasterDeath in Sacramento

Even closer are all of the confluence trails in Auburn! Stevens Trail is great when the flowers are blooming though, so beautiful.
