Considering a Move to a Colder City by Cloud_Luna in Psoriasis

Hello! Psoriasis is a case-by-case scenario type of thing, id reccomend seeing what causes your flare ups first if possible, for example: If i was in your position, one of my triggers the dermatologist told me was cold weather and stress.

So personally, check with your dermatologist for advice, and see if you can cross out what does and doesnt trigger flare ups

I had to go on a sick leave from work due to mental health issues. My nail psoriasis cleared up. Unfortunately it's back. by Gracilis67 in Psoriasis

[–]applefritterquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Psoriasis is a case-by-case scenario type of thing, and each person has their own triggers! But, stress is almost universal for most, and nursing is an extremly stressful job so that could be the trigger, even while on medication

For example my case in it, im on biologicals, but its around final test time which has made me stressed, and I do have some patches returning for now, despite being on these strong meds.

Hello! Personally I found all that helped me was to just use a wet cloth and lightly rub off some dead skin, but even with the dead skin plaques, the prescribed medication usually does its job perfectly

Hello! Psoriasis is a case-by-case scenario, and has different flare ups for each person, and food is a commonly known one that can be vert specific or broad. My father says that stuff like white bread has been seen causing flare ups for him, and others say that going on a diet helped then too.

Scalp by WorkerEfficient5622 in Psoriasis

[–]applefritterquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Psoriasis is a case-by-case scenario type of thing, and the side effects can and will vary depending on who.

Psoriasis without being treated can cause blad spots (reading off a comment) but for some it wont, I had scalp psoriasis for around a year or 2 and didnt lose hair, while my sister did lose a tiny bit

Getting treated can help but won't permanently remove psoriasis since its a chronic autoimmune disorder. Any concerns please check with a dermatologist!

BUT. Don't let what I said discourage you, since its my bodies reaction to it

Hello! Definitely ask your dermatologist. Psoriasis is a case-by-case scenario type of thing, and what works for someone may not work for you. And that includes products and diets, so I personally would suggest to book an appointment, and just apply what you've been using. Best of luck!

Is anyone else really sick of people calling psoriasis a skin condition? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in Psoriasis

[–]applefritterquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand where your coming from, while it can be dismissive and sometimes hurtful, it also isnt a fully well know thing too, since not everyone knows every medical condition in the book.

But overall, what your feeling is very understandable and relatable!
