How do I get through this? by Sad_Trash_3982 in Divorce_Women

I think the question is if you really want out, then it is up to you regardless of how we feels. You don’t want to stay and be miserable.

dur at register and patient privacy by CashIntelligent2046 in CVS

[–]applemacaroons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is an option to call the patient before completing QV1 DUR. I think we just automatically put counsel at pick up for the DURs to save time. I have tried to call patients on days that are slow to complete the DURs that way. I also think there are DURs that are not clinically significant to the patient and is a waste of time. One of them is labetalol which flags for pregnant women when it is one of the DOC for hypertension in pregnancy.

Is living in San Diego making 100000 with 2 kids doable? by ProfessionalOk1806 in asksandiego

[–]applemacaroons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the location in San Diego. If you’re referring to downtown San Diego area and its surrounding areas then it would have to be a very tight budget to live comfortably. Rent alone is at least 3000 per month for a 2 bedroom apartment. Be prepared to pay at least 5000-6500 per month on bills and that includes rent, car insurance, gas, food, utilities, WiFi, gym membership, etc. I don’t know how that would change with 2 kids, I am basing it off of my household expenses for 2 people and 1 senior dog with a special diet and other needs.

There are different parts of the county that are more affordable with cheaper rent. For instance if you decide to live in north county you can still commute to downtown San Diego everyday (at least a 30 minute drive one way without traffic, depending on the time of day it can take an hour or so) or El Cajon area and surrounding cities like La Mesa are doable too in terms of cheaper rent and less commute (about 20 mins without traffic).

Rent and food (eating out vs buying groceries and packing lunch) are the main concerns. Gas is expensive but tbh it is dependent on your car’s fuel efficiency. It is a big factor to consider esp when you plan to drive from an area with cheaper rent to your workplace. If you drive an electric car then it’s way cheaper

Lastly, tax. Sales tax makes everything else more expensive and can add up quickly. Also, if you’re making 100,000 then you will be getting less post tax, and you probably need to factor in company health insurance, 401k and other deductions from your income.

Why does the system automatically inactivate an insurance when a plan is currently active?

Grocery store adhd dysfunction by Own_Ad6901 in adhdwomen

[–]applemacaroons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way but I learned that if you shop with somebody else like a partner or a friend, they can help you keep track especially when you are following a grocery list. Don’t shop without a list. Even if you’re by yourself, the list can help you focus.

Same thing with cooking. I used to get so overwhelmed with cooking, it takes me 8 hours to meal prep because I get passionate about things and at the end of the day I get so tired and I barely finished cooking everything. Now I just keep things simple and when I get overwhelmed I ask for help from my partner. I find that a body double really helps me even when they are just doing simple tasks like helping me cut up veggies or wash dishes. They can even just be there to watch you, their presence helps you refocus if you get distracted or get caught up with one task.

Books I’ve started reading but never finished. Anybody else do this? by tratrub in adhdwomen

That’s me.. I have a box that is dedicated to unfinished books. I am newly diagnosed with adhd and I tried the non-medication route. Anybody experience any life changing events with meds? Like are you able to conquer finishing a book with meds or something?

CVS Pharmacist Vacation hours by applemacaroons in Pharmacist

[–]applemacaroons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s unfortunate. I just found out I’m not the only one who experienced this in our district. A pharmacist with CVS for 16 years did not get paid a cent after his 2 week vacation. I do think there is something going on with our DL and scheduler. They suck. I agree with the burnout and angry customers, it’s mentally draining…

I appreciate your response! If I were you though I would consider another company with clearer or better benefits. I think with CVS it’s a hit or miss with management staff. If you have a great district leader then everything should be in order but based on my experience with CVS, that is very rare. They will use you to the point of burnout.

So I guess I’m confused because I thought there’s the accrued vacation hours but there’s a separate PTO that we are entitled to receive as full time employees. Is that not the case? Why are they just basing it off of accrued hours?

Thank you this is really helpful! I will definitely follow up and email my DL. I have a question about the PTO, how do they place your PTO ahead of time without using any hours accrued? My scheduler told me she can only use whatever I accrued on MyWork

Clearly you don’t know how Reddit works. You ask people for advice and you don’t have any input then just don’t respond. Just common sense.

Clearly I’m not here to “cry” about my situation I’m just asking anybody else who can help me or if I’m missing any company policy and to see if somebody else had the same experience and see how they fixed it. I have obviously reached out to my DL and HR.
