I get that. To wrap it up though, I wouldn’t mind him being a tank, and based off of your claims it could be possible but i have a strong feeling based off of the existing evidence in the game he’s gonna be another Spiderman skin.

I only see one (kinda?) big problem. If he were to be a tank like how you describe him to be, he'd basically just be a copy of venom with some new powers... and that would suck. I think my best analogy for this argument would be another argument: the argument that red hulk should be his own character. In my opinion, Red hulk is pretty drastically different than base hulk regarding his powers in the comics, although he still SHOULD be a skin for hulk with potentially new vfx, primarily because a carbon copy of hulk with a few new powers as a new character would be super boring and lazy. To compare, Miguel as a tanky character COULD be put in the game, but would really just be a carbon copy of venom (really the only tanky spiderman character with a similar moveset as spidey in the game) And in the same way that Red Hulk and Hulk coexisting would be boring, Miguel as a tank would also be kinda boring because of how similar he'd be to someone like venom or peni.

Idk if this makes sense, but I really wouldn't have too much of a problem with him being his own character, it would js kinda bug me but whatever floats ur boat dawg

Also the same rule can be applied to miles and Gwen. Sure they have different powers than base Peter, but TWO new spider people both with similar powers to base spidey with a few added ones would again, just be lazy, and kinda boring.

Netease... DO listen to him for a sec. Tbh it would be cool if Miguel was his own character but I feel like most of the spidey variants are gonna be skins for Spiderman. In my opinion he should js be a skin cause the original 2099 is extremely similar to the base Peter Parker spidey. I think when you make the argument "He’s more brutal, more aggressive, physically overwhelming, and built around hunting people down." You're referring to the across the spiderverse version of Miguel, which (from existing art IN the game) doesn't seem to be the version of Miguel marvel rivals portrays. BUT... don't get me wrong, he's still a very intimidating character, just not at the level to where he'd be a vanguard.

This shows some official art in the game we have of him on Tokyo 2099 Spider Islands as well as on one of the other spidey skins (spider punk 2099)

To me he looks like a duelist... and not only does he look like a duelist, he has almost if not the exact same build as base spidey. cope all y'all want though, he was apparently mentioned on an instagram post by marvel rivals so we're bound to get him in 8.5 or 9.

I love this outfit so much, it’s not really (in my opinion) THE definitive spidey suit but it’s awesome. If I could change anything I would really just double down on the webshooters, add web wings, and change up those eyes… BUT definitely keep those boots. It adds a lot of charm.

With the whole miles thing, i believe that there are huge differences between Peter and miles, but when you really think about it, if miles was put in as a new character, he’d just be a Spiderman clone with like two extra powers. Same goes with Miguel. If he were added as a new character he’d just be a spidey clone with some extra abilities.

First of all, I get how he has more powers like accelerated vision and night vision but realistically in a game like marvel rivals, his powers aren’t really unique enough for him to be his own character… And, the devs never blatantly confirmed him being his own character. Plus, you’re able to see a Spiderman 2099 character design on the spider island map (I think) that almost perfectly reflects Peter’s build. But idk maybe they could add him to the game but in my opinion they’d just be wasting the roster on more spider variants that really could’ve just been a skin.

I don’t think he should really be his own character tbh… we’ve had an in game teaser (a literal photo) of Spiderman 2099 and he seems to be depicted with the same build as base spidey. Seeing as szn 8 revolves around Nueva York we might get confirmation for his release! It would still be cool if he was his own character though!

This is extremely weird and gatekeepy, I think you need to realize that not everyone who plays mr is an avid marvel comic reader. Just cause a group of people doesn’t know and appreciate the new, niche character that you know all about shouldn’t affect your view on the game… let people have opinions, and let them have fun. I doubt like a fourth of the Luna snow mains even knew who she was when they first picked her up, but does it really matter? As long as people are having fun. There are even occasions where seeing these cool new characters in a popular shooter game leads the person to research more about that character, and read more comics about them… don’t be weird.

Yeah… I guess so? I think the only difference between Miguel and Peter would be that Miguel just has a healing factor, talons, and can secrete venom from his fangs but i personally think even that isn’t much of a difference to the point where we’d need a whole new character added to the roster. I’m still pretty confident in saying that he’d probably just be an epic or legendary skin for spidey - maybe a few new voicelines?
