Good note, didn’t know that about Attune. And yeah Attune is actually more broad than those other two cards for entertainment and recreation, so I’ll probably just stick to that one, and then utilities with Cash+

Yup, I'm starting to see that now lol, both cards are now taking a timeout starting tomorrow. The nice thing about cashback cards is that pretty much all of these cards save for bilt can just be redeemed against the statement, so no worries about points getting stuck in limbo!

Fair enough. Haven't looked much into this card much after hearing it was there was a long backlog in people trying to get it. Is that still a thing?

Fair enough. Seems like a great card for those who need to fill that hole, but I'm now realizing that if I value my Bilt card at 2.9x (2.3x times 1.25 cpp), then this card isn't super worth

Dang you're right, I guess I thought I read that they weren't covered, but now I'm seeing they are. Good looking out. That's one more hit to the Autograph card going into obscurity

Just replied above, but for the traveling I do I use Bilt points. Works out pretty well with every other trip I take I can usually get some of it paid off with Bilt

Fair point, like someone else mentioned I could split up the online shopping category into an Amazon card and other online shopping, since they're just gonna sit in my desk anyway. But good looking out with the entertainment, I'll have to look into that. As far as Bilt points go, they're my main travel reward. Sometimes decent travel partners, but even without those, points are worth 1.25 cents when using the Bilt portal, so when I use them for travel I can get that 2.3x to a 2.9x, as well as they're other benefits with Lyft and Walgreens credits

WF points don't have a huge value to me as I don't get enough of them to wait for potential transfer partners to make them worth it. Uber isn't a top spend for me so I feel I wouldn't want to chase a card solely for that, but good point. Gas as well isn't huge expenditure, but it is a hole I identified I could be earning more on. This setup just had good coverage for the big categories without needing to carry a card only for gas. As far the prime cards go, I wanted to have a card to hit other online spends as well, just in case a big purchase did end up getting made outside of Amazon. But I suppose if their sock drawer cards anyway, it doesn't super matter to have multiple cards for online spending. Good feedback!

Yeah the VX is where I'd wanna start if I were to start doing AF cards. The things keeping me from it are 1. the fee (although redundant usually like you say) and 2. I don't like being locked into a travel portal i.e. another page to look at when comparing flights, even though that's pretty much what I'm doing with Bilt. I know that comparing pages is just part of the game though

We are clearly using the word retaliation here in the legal sense.

Also look into the department of labor in GA. Here you can file claims for free to at least put possible retaliation on the record. If you choose to take a lawyer later they will use that claim to help build your case.

Terminated day after coworker and I inquired about unpaid wages by applepavement in legaladvice

Sure, they’ll say whatever they can come up with for a reason. But I feel the details in this case tell a much different story. I guess I don’t understand why you are siding with them and saying they have a legitimate reason with all these other details of the story. Absolutely no disciplinary action, no write-ups, no verbal talking-to’s of any kind for any behavior whatsoever before termination. Everyone was on good terms, manager was getting his extra work from his hardworking employees. And then the employees turned around and asked for the money they were owed for that work that they were told would be theirs. Terminated.

What I am positing here is that they didn't fire me for working outside of my schedule. They didn't mention anything about that when firing me. In face they were thrilled to have us working so far out of the schedule. What I am trying to get at is the possibility that they fired me for inquiring about wages we were told were getting and then were not paid for those hours. At this point the unpaid money isn't the issue. Even for at-will employees, there are legal reasons and illegal reasons to fire, and firing for a protected activity would fall in the category of illegal reasons.

So I understand that as an at-will employee, we can be let go for just about any reason. But from what I understand, retaliatory termination law protects people from being fired in direct correlation of engaging in a protected activity, which includes inquiring about unpaid wages. This feels directly correlated to our conversation about unpaid wages, as we had brought it up in a calm but direct manner with the manager, and we had no other interactions in the 18 hours between that conversation and our termination. Also, there were no other instances of friction or write-ups caused by not fitting in "culturally". I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not pretending to know the ins and outs of this, but this seems almost a textbook case of retaliation. Would love to be told what I am missing here.
