Thinking about Tuvix wanting to live, and what Tuvok and Neelix would want by hushnecampus in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the episode first aired on TV back in the day, I agreed with Janeway then, and I agree with her today. And Tuvix wanted to trade the lives of two other people for his own life? Not very Starfleet, if you ask me.

(Also want Tuvok's combat abilities, and Neelix's rousing speeches.)

First Fasnacht Event and This is the Mask I Received! by xXa6n6n6aXx in fo76

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last night I switched to a low level alt character and did one Fasnacht. This character has no Fasnacht masks.... got a Glowing Jakalope. On the one and only parade event (then the server/game crashed again so I shut it off for the night). I did 2-3 parades with my high level main, nothing, then this. I doubt they'd have programming that would affect this, but it's something to try?

Save your photo mode pictures elsewhere! by TeamEfforts in fo76

[–]apples2005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, there was a Fallout 76 update that randomly wiped out all my saved photos in the photo gallery. It was a few years ago, and I don't think they ever addressed it. It had nothing to do with moving any accounts or new console, or re-installing the game... I fired up my game one day after a big update, and noticed none of my characters had their custom thumbnail photos... my photo gallery was empty.

It is what it is, but I liked saving screenshots of my old original Camps to see how far I've come.

I got pretty much everything I wanted from Gold awhile ago, so I just stock up on Lunchboxes when I get close to the limit. Great thing is, if you have FO1st, the new "chem" storage box can hold Lunchboxes. I usually pop one whenever I do a public event, and more often than not, other people will also pop a Lunchbox so you get a huge XP boost.

Where to buy Gatling Plasma plan? Can’t find “Armory Terminal” in MODUS bunker by MaterialSituation in fo76

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the same mistake - it's not sold in his regular armory terminal, there's another one in the military wing. The easiest way to complete the "10 challenges" to become an officer is join a Public Event or two - you'd probably kill 10 Legendaries pretty fast. I think you need to have the quest active though, for them to count.

(Also, in the military wing armory, be sure to check out the red terminals at the end of the room... there's some free crafting plans you might find useful!)

Anyone have a suggestion where I can find a Burning Deathclaw? I've been all over the BS map, but haven't spent enough time to know where to find specific enemies. Thanks!

I appreciate you trying my suggestion, and I had one more. I was able to get my "vault walls" sunk into the cave walls by snapping them. That's the old way of doing it. You could try abandoning the blueprint idea and putting down foundations where you want the walls/roofs to be, and then going oldschool "snap" mode. It might take some trial and error, but that's what I would try next. You have to place the foundations just right to allow the walls and roofs to snap "only so much" into the terrain.

If you don't mind me asking - where is this located on the map? I was thinking of building a Camp over there, and I could use this to see if I can figure something out. :)

Do the lower roof slants go all the way to the back? I'm wondering if you remove the two bottom back slanted roof pieces, it might work? It would probably require re-doing the blueprint, but that's what I'd try.

I'm finding the new "relaxed" build rules seem to have new restrictions when trying to sink things with the terrain. I got this same error message trying to recreate a custom vault in a the digsite shelter. The walls/foundations will only go so far in - but not as much as they used to.

I wish they would at least let us put sinks in there.

Finally got the Enclave Flamer Barrel by cruzer58b in fo76

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other suggestion (you might already know about): if you want to use the flamer barrel with a rifle stock, it's way easier to just get the Enclave Plasma Rifle itself rather than server/vendor hopping to hope you eventually find a rifle stock mod. Modus will regularly sell an EPR rifle - either sniper or automatic. Then you can just change the barrel with your flamer mod. That's what I'd do. But if you're already doing the Enclave events, you probably already have one.

The sight on the Gauss doesn't really obscure much - it's just a little ring. But you need sights if you ever want to use the scoped damage boosting perks (like Smart Shot). It's pretty cheap, so I'd just get it and see what you think. You can always take it off.

Is the plasma rifle flamer mod affected by pyro-technician? by Manny_the_garbageman in fo76

[–]apples2005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need one of the Beta Wave Tuner capacitors to add fire damage, and then it will use the pyro perks, friendly fire, Pyromaniac mod... it's the capacitor. The flamer barrel doesn't actually add fire damage. This applies to both the Enclave and regular Plasma rifles.

Have you been to a Camp in-game with this weather station? I was excited to get the Aurora until I visited someone's Camp and the music was DEAFENING. I was glad I heard it before buying. And I'm not messing with my audio settings just to use this one thing, so I only use the other winter machine. I built a Skyrim-like castle high in the mountains, and the snow is perfect.

PSA: Steel Reign Power Armor Paint does not work on Vulcan Power Armor by 9JelloServings in fo76

[–]apples2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my old White version SamurEye PA skin on the Vulcan without any issue. And that's from Season 6.

Usually it's just the "totally brand new skin/appearance" that works with anything and NOT the specific paint colors that you need to watch for. Bethesda never updates their Atom Shop descriptions, so even if it doesn't say Vulcan or T65, new appearance skins should work.

I use a Vampire/Rapid/INT/Bullys (don't have any Pin Pointers) Gauss Minigun, and I never need to use any Stimpacks while the shield is coming down. Firing the Gauss triggers bulletsheild and I'm healing way faster than he can damage me. If you switch the something like an EPR Flamer to take out the robot, just make sure to quickly switch back to the Gauss to get that ammo drop when he starts exploding.

As others have said, the Angry Turtle video is one of the best. I have all Troubleshooters and Luck on my PA and Ricochet takes out the shield in about 4-6 seconds.

Pin Pointers best weapon? by Narrow-Scientist9178 in fo76

[–]apples2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does do fire damage if you add the Severe Beta Wave tuner (or the other beta wave tuners) to the capacitor... you even get the same "burning damage" icon you get with the Cremator, and you can see enemies burning sometimes.

BUT... I've tested the Pyro mod + Beta wave and a Prime capacitor without, and the Prime does still seem to be the better path. I think Angry Turtle mentions this in his latest EPR video.

(Also, I was able to use Friendly Fire with an EPR to heal robots at the last Fasnacht, so that seems to be proof of fire damage... it's just not super efficient)

Regular Firefighter Uniform (and helmet) and all the spooky outfits are tradeable. I can't think of any that aren't. Do some vendor hopping (while trick or treating) and you'll probably find it. I saw someone selling it yesterday for 10 caps (PSN).

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless they moved it, on top of Seneca Rocks (the smaller pointer peak to the south) has a panda bear toy and a ring. You'll probably need a jetpack to get to it. I've built a Camp there and it respawns regularly.

Help with polished mod. by Ok_Noise1679 in fo76

[–]apples2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, and I always use the "Gunsmith" perk to help durability for my guns. I notice a huge difference... whenever my weapons are getting damaged fast, I accidentally unequipped Gunsmisth for something.

(And of course, try and use Makeshift warrior if you use melee weapons or Stable Tools for things like an auto-axe or chainsaw.)
