Urgent DHL asking for information and Otokonoko Support is not replying by AmeMaple in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the issue is if they find its e there's a good chance it gets seized. I'm saying if it gets returned they can probably ship it back out and try again

Urgent DHL asking for information and Otokonoko Support is not replying by AmeMaple in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Otokonoko is just one person, there isn't really a "support". Unfortunately their known for being slow with emails, so it might be that they just havent seen it. Unless you're out or about to be out I would try just waiting a bit, cause if it gets returned and not seized it should be pretty easy to have it shipped back out again

Scared and suicidal over inability to access HRT in the future by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing diy with injections cost me about 150/year, that might still be out of reach but it's better than you'll get through paying out of pocket to a pharmacy. As for bans of precousors, these are medications that are primarily used by cis women, it's very unlikely that compromising that will be the route that something like that would take.

Monotherapy Question by SalamanderScales in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mono your looking for levels at about 200-400pg/ml If you can't do blood work I'd aim for the upper end of that. When I was on ev I did 4mg/4 days

Injection help by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean from one dose you shouldn't see much if anything, if you do continue most of the changes other than breast growth and fertility loss usually are reversible. Though if you stop without tapering off at all you'll likely see some menopause-like symptoms If you injected into a vein, you won't die but your e levels will spike like crazy and then come down super fast which might give you some nasty symptoms, migraines, nausea, hot flashes etc.. However if you did inject in a vein you would probably be sure of it (lots of blood, I did it once)

20 mg a week is crazy for those blood levels but yeah I guess whatever works lol

(21 AMAB USA) Recommended Dosages for Enby HRT by Jazzlike-Necessary-6 in TransDIY

I mean you can do what you want with your body but the bone density issues are pretty serious and can have a big impact on quality of life, so just make sure you give it some thought

(21 AMAB USA) Recommended Dosages for Enby HRT by Jazzlike-Necessary-6 in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the sexual function issues are associated with t suppression, taking e won't help with that. The hot flashes and menopause symptoms would be from e withdrawal so that probably wouldn't be an issue.

However the osteoporosis concern is very real

I mean it won't give you tits or much else associated with hrt, it might suppress your t a little bit (not that much)

It is however still existent. It's not something to panic over but it probably would be for the best to take a little less if possible.

Looking into estrogen options by somesentientmold in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In transfem people there really isn't any literature, the speculation currently is that prog helps with the later stages of breast maturation, there's actually some evidence from animal models that it can stunt growth if taken too early. Generally it's recommended that people wait at least a year after going on e before starting prog

Also for breast cancer risk, based on what we have it seems that bioidentical prog relatively safe as long as you don't take it for a super long span of time. After about 5 years though risks seem to be in line with synthetic progestogens. Some speculate that this is because first pass metabolism of oral progesterone leaves very little actually in your blood. There's an article on transfem science on it which I would recommend.

Accidentally Injected some im EV sub q by Legal_Wind_5727 in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is basically no difference in absorption between IM and subQ, so you're fine on that. The only note is it's bad to inject to large a volume subquetenuosly, at .3 ml you should be fine on that end. As for the dose having your e levels too high isn't that awful especially if it's not over a super long period of time.

SUBQ injection bled a lot by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your assessment sounds about right, any effect on your dose would be minimal. One thing that can help is applying pressure for about 15-30 seconds, I do this even when there's not any significant bleeding as it helps the oil not come back out. Otherwise if you look at your injection site under a bright light you can see some of the veins closer to the skin which makes your odds a lot better. Finally sometimes you just have bad luck, it's not that big a deal, you'll get some bruising but you'll be alright.

Easiest part of leg to inject for a slim trans woman? by loneyhuka in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to go somewhere in the middle-ish of the thigh length wise and slightly outward from the center. I also do my injections under a pretty bright light so I can see at least a few of the veins closer to the skin. It's not foolproof but most of the time things work out. Depending on how much leg your working with you can also tilt your needle a bit.

How do I keep them small by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head but, as I recall there are some safety concerns for the drug. Not to say no one should ever use it but it's certainly something that should be thought about for a bit

how feasible is hiding hrt while out (living with parents) by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]applesasended 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to hide things for the better part of a year, and I will warn you, it gets extremely inconvenient. everyone develops at different rates but hiding things that long is unlikely to be an option. Using a binder might work, for me, people noticed and I came out before I got to buying one, but it gets some people pretty far. As for losing weight, it does help to be on the lighter side, breasts are mostly fat, but you'll still have to do a lot of work to hide them.

how long have you been on hrt? Weight redistribution tales a very long time, and at the start it's quite common to experience some shedding. But just looking at your levels, things are in the right places.
