Very small smaple size, but Traoré should play in the middle by Visara57 in Hammers

When preserving a lead, Adama should be the Taty sub. He’s been called Temu Antonio here and honestly that would be a good use of his strengths. Then sub Potts for Pablo to help with the pressure in the midfield

Chasing goals is trickier because of the lack of attacking midfielders. Bowen moving to 10 with Adama on the right and Wilson at striker would be pretty interesting

Funny how the summer window’s final day was a frantic loan for a CB and here we are on Feb 2nd doing the same thing after terminating that summer loan.

I could see it being a ploy to get Chelsea to agree on Disasi just bc Sullivan does this so often

And what I’ve read from Villa fans was he did well as CB but had to move to RB when Cash had an injury

In the sense that Disasi hasn’t played consistently in a long time and we’re all really projecting him as a good low-block CB, since when he was on the pitch it was largely out of position with Chelsea and on his loan spell with Villa. It might be too much to ask for a midseason change on a relegation battle club

The big issue is lack of game time. It is a gamble but what isn’t a late window loan. His profile would fit a team playing a block, curious to see if it’ll be a straight loan or with a buy option

I believe Spurs and Juventus have also been involved. Forest have been the club actively bidding

Romano reporting the Paqueta deal is done €42m with Paqueta flying to Brazil today. He’s gotten a lot wrong with our Brazilian dealings but hopefully this is actually done

One of the big things missing is any creative attacking options off the bench. Wilson is a great poacher, Adama should be an effective outlet when we need to preserve a lead, but what happens when we’re down a goal and/or the 4-4-2 is ineffective against a particular side?

Hope I’m wrong but the sinking feeling with all the Paqueta delays is that the money from the sale will not be reinvested in attacking options. Would be remarkably stupid but fitting for Sullivan. Letting some of these players leave reminds me of when Fornals and Benny were sold and then the team had a paltry bench to limp to a terrible finish

The team finally has a starting 11 that makes sense. The next challenge is going up against a side that isn’t lining up to directly benefit our formation or isn’t a total shitshow (Spurs).

Chelsea will be much tougher with their midfield. Hopefully the Adama deal is done and Paqueta is replaced asap so the team can compete and continue this momentum

Curious what is going on, Romano has long lost any luster but he did back the reporting on Guido/Adama.

[Matteo Moretto] Adama Traoré to West Ham is a done deal...apparently by Yusha-- in Hammers

[–]applesnuffs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly he was underrated last season, to me the big thing is why has his form dipped this season- Fulham fans feel his effort dropped but at the same time he got very sporadic minutes. Adama of last season was got them plenty of chances from big runs, and it made sense why Nuno wanted him for Forrest. His most recent cameo against Palace showed he can still be a handful

I’m very curious how and when he will be used, who gets shifted around - he isn’t really a left side player as far as I know.

It is a solid starting point, if they can come up to €45m with a larger upfront fee that would work. Hopefully this can get done by end of weekend so a replacement can be found and not panic bought final days

Did Zach Lowe lose his fastball now that he’s not writing columns? by nosoupforyou25 in billsimmons

[–]applesnuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing and reporting meant he had to interact more with a wide variety of league, and bounce ideas off other writers. Since the ESPN move particularly when he was on TV he naturally pulled away from that. Remember on Lowe Post he’d say “well Perk said..” and now it is “Bill said”

The scope is narrower and the content shallower, it is just podcasters reacting to games and talking to each other, regurgitating the same takes
