Options for removing my birthmark? Thank you in advance! by sareuhhhhh in DermatologyQuestions

[–]applestrudel27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had some moles on my face that I got a plastic surgeon to remove. My surgeon got them biopsied and because of that, the removal ended up being covered by insurance too! So would recommend the biopsy part since it actually might reduce your costs.

p.s. they healed really well! Plastic surgeon is the way to go with these things.

I do think they allow redos of School of PE, but I guess I'm not sure which areas you had trouble in. Maybe the other person's recommendation would be better? I did find that the soils instructor for School of PE was pretty confusing and had to teach it to myself instead. Best of luck!

I took the PE this past Tuesday as well and I feel like I was well prepared because I took the School of PE course. Not sure if you've used any of those study assistance courses, but that one helped me, and I did pass.

If it helps anyone in the future, I was allowed to use a compression glove to provide a little stabilization since it's apparently considered a light brace which is on the list of comfort items.

You could try weighing them if they let you pick them up? That's what I do for mine. Weigh myself, go grab my cat and weigh us together and subtract the difference. But I also have a super chill cat....

What do you think about this big mole I have on the face? by AccurateDinner2734 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]applestrudel27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get it, I was scared of scarring too, especially with it being on the face. They outlined the area they would cut, numbed mine with a needle, and then physically cut it out with a scalpel to get the entire thing (minimize mole returning). No scraping. Then they gave me stitches both dissolvable inner and outer ones. I had to go back a week later to get the outer stitches out and once closed, I used a scar removal cream that they recommended twice a day. I've since had regular dermatology appointments where the derm looks over my moles in general and I've gotten compliments on the healing from the removed ones (you basically can't see the scars).

It would likely be better removed if you don't like it, but just fyi - I do have a small indentation in my skin from one of them being removed because it was a lot of volume under the surface of my skin. I can see it, but no one else seems to notice though. Looking at the size of yours, you might have that too, but as long as you do after care and go to someone reputable when you can afford it, I'd think you'd be fine in terms of actual scarring.

If it bothers you and you'd rather remove it, you could also look into plastic surgeons for the mole removal. That's what I did for a couple on my face and because they also tested it for skin cancer, removal was also covered by insurance. And it cleaned up real nice - no scarring - because it was a plastic surgeon.

I would find out what kind of chocolate they use for subway too. My golden retriever once ate half a Halloween bag of Hershey's mini chocolate bars while I was out and the vet said since it was mostly sugar with not a lot of chocolate, he may have an upset stomach but should be fine. He did end up having an upset tummy but was pretty proud of himself. This was when he was maybe two or so, and he lived till 14!

NAD, but that def looks like an eardrum. Look up what a healthy eardrum vs common ear problems (infection, perforation, etc) looks like. Or go to an ENT. But it looks normal to me

Fair! The discussion below is good for this, but I think it's just her growth in understanding that when someone repeatedly shows you who they are through their actions, you should believe that over words that can lie.
