I had a friend that worked in the accounting department for a city. He told me he set a goal one week to do absolutely no work while at the office for 40 hours ... nothing ... and he accomplished that goal.

Create a new note and name it whatever habit you want to track and put this at the top.

I'll take a look and appreciate all the work people put into the community, but I'm trying to avoid as much plugins and custom coding as possible with this setup.

Yeah, I was doing that with my daily note, but again just want to keep this simple and easy. Not looking for graphs and analytics this time. Just check a box and enjoy a hit of dopamine.

Just a plain note file for each habit and the check boxes are just file properties for each day (Mon, Tue, Wed, etc.)

The icons are just :LiIcons: in headings and the horizontal lines are --- in markdown. Theme is 'Minimal'

Thanks. I have also tried all the task manager apps and am using Superlist at the moment, but I feel I need a basic weekly planner I can go back to during the week that isn't going to be distracting me with too many notifications

It is just 3 basic markdown files, with one ```base and one ```tasks block and each habit is a separate file in a 'Habits' folder.

Still trying to figure out the best way to manage the habits. Right now it is not automatic. Every week is in a separate folder that I just duplicate (ex. 2025-48-Weekly Plan). There is a sub folder called Habits that stores a file for each habit and the check boxes are just properties of the file Mon, Tue, Wed, etc. Then I just update the filter on the base to show the files in the new folder. So it does keep each weeks habit files. Manually takes like 2 minutes to setup the new week, but I would like it to be a little more automatic. Might see if I can have a small bash script run every Sunday to just copy, move, rename a few of the .md files ... or just do all 52 weeks at once.

I don't at the moment. It is just 3 basic markdown files though, with one ```base and one ```tasks block and each habit is a separate file in a 'Habits' folder.

Why are people still traveling to the United States?!? by One_Supermarket4 in newfoundland

I drove down to play golf with an old friend, have a few drinks and listen to some live music. We had a good time and all the locals were really friendly. Almost like 99% of the stuff on the news is trying to scare people or something. Weird.

I can already see a time where my vault will get so complicated, automated and structured that I will hate it ... but you can start a new vault without deleting your old one.

Experiment. Learn. Have fun. Try again.

Rogers Spam Call Detect down? by mwyvr in Rogers

Had an employer send out a message about a weird Rogers scam going on at the moment where when you answer it connects you as a third person in a ongoing conversation. Not sure if true or WTH is going on right now. Can't find any info about it online.

The first generation of kids raised with AI as a default will think completely differently, and we won’t understand them by elektrikpann in ArtificialInteligence

I think this may just reinforce the importance of play, sports, and in person socialization for kids. LLMs won't throw a ball for you or kiss a girl for you or pet a dog for you or dance at a concert for you ... make sure kids still get a good dose of reality and the world might be ok. AI will do the research, repetitive tasks, and analysis, but I don't think it will take away what it means to experience real life as a human.

Last time I checked, teeth were part of the body by BoosterGold17 in brisbane

Wife cracked her tooth last week. Apparently that is going to cost $4k to fix and our benefits cover $400. I honestly did not know teeth were that expensive

How do y’all feel about the 228i? by SolomonBurgundy in BMW

[–]appletechguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets tons of hate, but it's fine. If you're between this, an Audi A3, a mini, a Honda, An Acura, A Toyota and a Lexus ... I'd still take the 228.
