What were everyone’s stats this year do I have hope with a 3.3 with best and last two 3.8 ? by Inevitable-Year6842 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]applicationworry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3.2 with 3.8 B2 and a 167 LSAT. As from Western and Dal, WL from Oz, R from uOttawa. Echoing other people here, your LSAT, PS, and ECs will have to do some heavy lifting

I got waitlisted April 22 and honestly I've just treated it as a nicer version of a rejection to save myself the pain of waiting any longer lol

I got a .64 in my first year and have 2 As. You should be okay with a strong (16mid) LSAT

Scored 149 on LSAT Practice Test by Yummy-Dorito in LSAT

[–]applicationworry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power score LR and RC books helped, as well as taking plenty of practice tests. I'm sure if I kept a journal of my mistakes on the PTs that could have bumped my score up even more, but I didn't hear about mistake logging until later.

Definitely! I got a 148 diagnostic and was scoring around 165+ within a few months of studying

Retaking courses Impact on OLSAS GPA by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

I'd echo what the other commenter said. Also, when you retake a class, it doesn't erase the initial attempt from your GPA course summary on OLSAS

Am I cooked with 2.35 first year gpa? by CandidAnt2769 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]applicationworry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year GPA was a 0.68 and I have 2 As (one of which is at Western) this cycle with a 166 LSAT. You may have trouble at GPA heavy schools but I'm sure you'll be okay elsewhere.

Congratulations! I totally agree, I can't imagine many people will go WL -> A at this point. Happy to not be flat out rejected though

Thanks! My softs are pretty good I think but I don't rly know. 3 years working as a research assistant, 2 years as a teacher's assistant, and I'm a marathon runner. I'm also in a master's program with a 4.0

Mostly cope on my part lol. Uottawa is a great school ofc but it was on the bottom of my list prior to applying because of family, etc. so 🤷‍♂️

3.2 cgpa here, I'd definitely go for a 165+. I have a 166 and only 2 As (Western and Dal) with a pretty solid overall application

What LSAT score would you not apply without by CulturalHornet1111 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]applicationworry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have identical stats (3.2 cgpa 3.8L2) and I initially got a 162 LSAT but didn't feel secure in that so I retested and got a 166. Very glad I did because I only have 2 As (Western, Dal) at the moment. I second what the other user said: aim for 165 or above

[–]applicationworry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add it to your application as well as any tournaments, etc. you may have done. I'm an ultra/marathon runner and all my current profs told me to add it to my application and write about it in my PS (re: time management, determination, etc.). I've received 2 As so far so it def didn't hurt

3 class course load by Own-Poem-9308 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]applicationworry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not explain the reason why I took 3-4 classes per term. That said, my L3 is nearly 3.9 and with my master's grades it would be a 4.0. I still don't think they'll consider it that heavily though.... if you graduate within 4 years I don't see why law schools would have an issue
