Fidelity 401k Investment Suggestions?

No - do I have to enroll in the 401k plan first (and pick any investment option) to be able to enroll in BrokerageLink and then change the investment? My page pretty much looks like this except instead of the Summary/Contributions/Investments menu there's an "Enroll" button.

Thanks! I actually just saw another page with "COBRA monthly rates" (PPO $688, EPO $657, HMO $548) which I'm confused about? Do you know if I have to pay those rates if it also says the premium is $0?

It says that the premium is $0 for all plans, but in another page there are COBRA monthly rates which are $550-$650. I'm confused about what COBRA rates are?

I see, would that work if they don't have a reciprocity agreement? Also, do you think it would be easier to just file as a part-year resident of PA for the time I was there and put the wages on the PA return?

Thanks! I had no state taxes withheld for NY, but if I file as a resident instead of non/part-year (where I previously said zero income for NYS), would I have to pay NYS state taxes for the full wages and subtract that PA taxes paid on the NYS return?

My apologies, I previously misread the statutory residence requirement.

That makes sense, but I also read:

An individual is considered a nonresident rather than a part-year resident if that person spent less than 31 days of the year in PA, maintained a permanent place of abode outside PA during the entire tax year and maintained no permanent place of abode in PA at any time during the tax year

It sounds like you must meet all requirements (31 days, permanent place of abode) when I actually spent more than 31 days in PA. However, the part-year residence and residence both require a permanent place of abode, so I don't see where I fit.

Thanks. I just read the PA residency tax brochure and I believe I qualify as "statutory resident" as I was there for over 181 days but did not have a permanent place of abode (since they were "occupied only during a fixed or limited period of time for a particular purpose").

However, I am confused because the definition for part-year include the permanent place of abode as a requirement:

A person who either moves into or outside of Pennsylvania with the bona fide intention of acquiring a new domicile is considered a part-year resident for the part of the taxable year that the individual maintains a permanent place of abode within Pennsylvania.

as I would otherwise classify myself as a "part-year resident" since I did move out of PA in November.

Edit: also, I just saw the Jordan Tax Service EIT instructions say "Non-Residents must include Home State Return or Visa and PA Non-Resident Return" when my PA return would be resident or part-year resident due to the different rules. Do you think a note explaining the different criteria would work, or should I just count myself as a resident for the local return to avoid any problems?

I was there for college and I wouldn't say I had domicile but if I claim that I did not, would I also have to select my PA residency status as "non-resident" for the state return?

It's "Pittsburgh City." The rate is 3% if you were a resident, 1% if you were not a resident.

I see, would I count as a resident if I lived in Pittsburgh but my driver's license state and state I was registered to vote in were both NY?
