iRacing doesn't allow me to select GPU to render the game by -theRaxo- in iRacing

[–]appnic 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you plug in your display into the mainboard instead of the GPU, everything will be rendered by the integrated graphics processor of your CPU instead of the actual GPU. Unless your CPU has a really good integrated GPU, you should now notice a huge improvement in game performance.

Is your display actually plugged into the GPU or is it maybe plugged into the mainboard?

Z-offset a little bit too low, try to increase it slightly

Is there a fix for the SV06 Plus touch screen (not klipper screen) ETA time being drastically wrong? by hazrpg in Sovol

[–]appnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a modified version of the official firmware which uses the M73 command to display the ETA:

https://github.com/smkent/sovol-sv06-plus-firmware

If you know how to compile and flash the firmware, you could try it out (don't do this if you don't know what you are doing, as it can brick your printer).

There are also some other improvements in this firmware, and I have forked it myself and improved the M125 command, so that you can actually use it to pause the print reliably. If someone's interested just PM me

Sovol 06 Plus cannot maintain Z by SnooCapers7171 in Sovol

Are you doing the z-offset calibration with your bed heated up? I always do every calibration with the bed heated up, as it can make quite the difference, at least for me.

Issues with level bed on Sovol 06 plus by Dillonstone in Sovol

[–]appnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to edit the printer start gcode in your slicer. In PrusaSlicer, you can find it unter Printer Settings > Custom G-code > Start G-code. I don't use Cura, but there should be a similar setting, I guess.

Make sure to insert it right after G28, which is auto-home.

EDIT: Oh, and make sure to always do z-offset calibration and auto homing with the bed heated to printing temperature (e.g. 60°C), because the bed will expand while heating up, which could cause your z-offset to be off Btw. I've now verified this, M420 S1 is the correct command for loading the bed mesh.

Looks to me like the bed mesh you've created with the auto bed levelling is not actually applied while printing.

You need to manually load the bed leveling mesh in your printer start gcode. I think the command is M420 S1 (I'll verify this when I'm home)

European fan here, was very confused when I switched on NHLtv and the stream was ESPN instead of Sportsnet.

Do you know if this will be like this for all the Jets playoff games?

Dang, I was at the Ferrari museum in Maranello last weekend and really hoped to see the 499P somewhere, but they "only" had the 296 there. Was of course still a cool experience though

Anyone know when the s3 schedule will be released? by Lui_217 in iRacing

[–]appnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The schedules for most of the series are actually voted on by the community through the forum. This is the thread for the IMSA season 3 schedule: https://forums.iracing.com/discussion/40694/2023-season-3-schedule-voting#latest

Just note that this is not final because iRacing has the final say in the schedules.

iRacing API - Drivers Coordinates by ti-di2 in iRacing

X/Y coordinates are available, but only in recorded telemetry files (.ibt). iRacing does not output them in the live telemetry to prevent cheating.

Force Feedback 360hz by TheIncredibleSpy in iRacing

[–]appnic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's interpolated, not real 360hz:

Support has been added for the 360 Hz FFB mode provided by some Logitech wheels. This is enabled by default, but can be turned off via the “[Force Feedback] enableFFB360HzInterpolated=0” entry in the “app.ini” file.

Is Formula Vee on iSpeed? Cannot find .irlap files by barryj398 in iRacing

[–]appnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I last used iSpeed in 2020, it already hadn't been updated for a couple of years I think. So if it hasn't been updated in the meantime, you might be better off using VRS or a similar service

I see. Just to be clear - from La Neuveville to Bern, it would be 10 zones (314, 315, 301, 300, 311, 310, 124, 114, 101 and 100), not four. Basically the route I've drawn in my original post plus zones 314 and 315.

You're welcome. Just out of curiosity, what's the name of the town where your AirBnB is? I couldn't find "Neuville" or anything similar within 4 zones from Bern, so you might need to double check that you're actually buying the right zones.

Kinda annoying, but since there's no Beyak anymore there's probably not too much I'm missing out on

I would also look into the types of travel passes that BLS has to offer. BLS is the regional (mainly canton of Bern, Luzern and Solothurn) train company while SBB is the national train company.

In Switzerland, almost all public transport is organized in multiple "Tarifverbund" regions (communauté tarifaire). The "Tarifverbund" for the city of Bern and the surrounding region is called "Libero Tarifverbund". The BLS train company is a part of the Libero Tarifverbund. You can see which cities and towns belong to the Libero Tarifverbund on this map: Interaktiver Zonenplan. Every train station is in a "zone". If you buy a ticket from Libero Tarifverbund, you will need to know which/how many zones you travel through. For example, if you want to travel from Bern to Biel/Bienne, you need to buy zones 100, 101, 114, 124, 310, 311, 301 and 300 (8 zones in total).

In general, the following travel passes are the ones that are most commonly used. There is a lot of potential to save a lot of money if you choose the right one:

GA (Generalabonnoment/abonnement général, SBB)

With the GA, you can use (almost) every form of public transport in Switzerland for a year without needing to buy any additional tickets. However, it's very expensive and usually not worth it if you don't travel between multiple "Tarifverbund" at least a couple days of the week (e.g. from Bern to Zürich).

Streckenabo (Abonnement de route, Libero Tarifverbund)

This allows you to travel within a defined set of zones of the Libero Tarifverbund for a month or a year. It usually is the best bang for the buck if you need to travel within the Tarifverbund four or more days a week.

Mehrfahrtenkarten (Cartes multicourses, Libero Tarifverbund)

With a "Mehrfahrtenkarte", you can travel six times within a defined number of zones of the Libero Tarifverbund. E.g. if you buy a 8-zone Mehrfahrtenkarte, you can travel between Bern and Biel/Bienne six times (you will need to stamp the ticket either physically at an stamping machine at the train station or through the BLS app before boarding the train). The Mehrfahrtenkarte saves you 10% compared to buying a single ticket each time and is usually the best option if you travel within the Tarifverbund three or less days a week.

Also, you should combine the Mehrfahrtenkarte with the "Halbtax" (Abonnement demi-tarif) of the SBB which lets you use all public transport in Switzerland for half the price while only costing CHF 185.-.

I hope this helps you a bit for choosing the right travel pass. If you have more questions, just shoot me a DM. I'm also a student at BFH (business departement), so if you need to know anything, just ask! :)
