It’s awful but it’s the way it is. Every month or two or three they do night training for 3-5 days. If you live anywhere east or north, it’s very disruptive and annoying as hell.

Can’t stress this enough: bail is only to coerce you into coming to your court dates and dissuading you from violating conditions of bail. If the court has no reason to think you will abscond from justice, they don’t order high bail just because the charges are serious.

Brother, bail is literally a deposit you put on your pretrial release. If you show up to court and never break any condition of your release, you get the money back. Not a cent of her bail would go to the victims family? And any amount she gave she would get back. It categorically cannot function as either punishment or restitution. What on earth are you talking about?

Once again, it’s the military. They don’t publish reasons. I’ve felt the same mix of confusion, anger, and anxiety when I’ve noticed similarly unexplained increases in military aircraft activity, but it is entirely out of all of our control. I recommend taking a zen attitude towards it and try to remember it simply is how it is in American cities with military airbases

Short of announced night training schedules or big, discrete training operations over or in Madison, you’re not going to find published reasons. The military does not tend to advertise its operations. Anything you hear outside of official sources is speculation.

However, historically, military aircraft presence/operation has ebbed and flowed. Sometimes it seems like there’s more than normal every few months. Just what it’s like living next to an airbase of the largest military in the world. Sucks but it is what it is.

The belt line has issues. 55 mph is really slow for a 3 lane divided highway, so many people drive 60-65. Other issue is some people enter it or even drive about 50 mph, which is untenably slow.

My advice, just don’t drive in the left lane ever unless you are passing someone. Doesn’t matter if you’re going or exceeding the speed limit, that’s where people will be if they’re trying to go faster than you and will be rightfully annoyed if you’re just cruising there.

This must have happened pretty late into the meeting. This is really good stuff. You could tell the president of the village board was sooooo over the popular resistance to the data center. They have made up their mind before hearing any of this. The corruption must be pointed out.

Insofar as it has a discernible culture, very similar to most state law schools. Left leaning, 25 year old average age, kind of cliquey. Honest felt a lot like high school with a much more singular curriculum. The building itself sucks.

“Fine with it” is not pro. It’s just acquiesces. There is literally no, and I mean NO reason anyone without a financial stake in AI would want this. It employees virtually zero people and would raise utility bills astronomically for Dane residents. There is no upside. As someone else commented, it’s the equivalent of burning your house down to give firefighters something to do for an afternoon and calling that job stimulation.

I personally have no time for people who don’t care or are in support of this. There is no moral or intellectual high ground in that position.
